Garden Witch Lifeis all about finding a new life that will make your parents back home proud. There are different tasks to complete, from side quests to the story plot, but one of the major parts of the game is farming.
Every farming game does things a little bit differently. You will be missing a lot of important information about nurturing a farm without some tips on getting started. Garden Witch Life requires you to use specific tools to get more information about your crops. Learn more about this below.
How To Cultivate Crops
Seeds are planted by using Y or Triangle on the controller. You can place seeds anywhere and there is no locked grid system. This allows for some creativity when it comes to placing anything on your farm, even furniture.
The main thing you want to be aware of iswatering and providing fertilized soil. The treehouse comes with a well already. All you have to do ispress A or X at the well to refillyour watering can. Watering works as if you weredrawing on the ground, rather than splashing a couple of tiles per use.
The first thing you want tocraft is a Compost Bin. This requires ten Grass, one Plank, and one Raised Bed at the workbench inside the treehouse.Place Plant Matter into the Compost Binto start the process of creating fertilized soil.
Plant Matter is obtained at random when you scythe Crystal Wheats or harvest crops.
Fertilizer can be placed down in the same manner that you would utilize any other item. You will know that you have placed fertilized soil down because theground will turn a dark shade of brown, different from the color of being watered.
Aurel, the capybara at the general store, sells regular fertilizerthat is different from what is made with the Compost Bin. It cost one single coin.
How To Craft Magic Lens
The most important toolyou will need for farming in Garden Witch Life is the Magic Lens. You will not be able tosee detailed informationabout your plants and animalswithout one.
With a Magic Lens in hand, you can view information about each crop you interact with. This will show you what season the crop is for, if the crop has been watered or fertilized, and when it will be ready for harvest.
The most important information on this screen is, of course, how long each crop takes to harvest. With the Magic Lens, you can check each crop daily, to see how far along it is in this process.
In the photo above, you can see the potato sapling has three more days until it is ready to harvest. This is on the top right of the menu. It has been watered but has not received any other care such as fertilizer.
When you use the Magic Lens on animals, it will tell you their health status as well as what resources they provide.
Where To Sell Crops
There are two different locations where you can “sell” items. The MagiBuy machine is in the center of town, andthe Community Box is next to Aurel. The purpose of the MagiBuy machine is currently unknown, as items do not sell for their value here. Each item will sell for one gold coin, no matter the item.
Sell valuables at the Community Boxto gain revenue. This is where they will sell for their real value. The only issue is thatit takes a couple of in-game daysfor items in the Community Box to get sold. You will have towait longer to earn money.
How To Get More Seeds
The only way to acquire seeds is through rewards from NPCs or by heading toAurel’s general store(seen above). Aurel sells every item in the game that does not relate to mining. This includes seeds, tree saplings, animal-related goods, and a wide variety of furniture.
Any items related to mining (tools, materials) will be in Tin’s shop.
Aurel sellsBirth Tree Seeds, Maple Tree Seeds, and Humble Allspice Seeds.
Every Crop
Crops are seasonal and take a different number of daysto fully bloom and be ready for harvest. The Magic Lens will be your key to understanding more about your crop’s health status and capabilities.
