Fallout 76 Seemingly Permabans Player Over Harris Walz CAMP Sign

Alongside their Reddit post, several screenshots were shared of the player’s attempts to contact Bethesda, as well as the developer’s reasoning for the ban.In the first image shared, we can see the actual sign that was the alleged cause of this ban, which displays the surnames of both Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in big red letters, and is attached to a building.

In the Customer Support response, Bethesda claims that this player’s account was banned due to “inappropriate signage and/or item placement”, and that the build itself had also been removed. After appealing the decision, Bethesda stood firm in its decision to permanently ban the player’s account, claiming the “extent and scale of the violation” justified the ban.

In one final image shared by the player, Bethesda goes more in-depth into the decision, claiming that the CAMP broke the Code of Conduct’s rules on “political content”. It then shared the specific rule that this sign broke, which claims it will ban players for “inappropriate content” for ZeniMax services, which includes “real-world religion and politics”.

Reddit appears to have taken issue with the severity of the player’s ban though, with the player themselves and many others calling the decision “over the top” and an “inappropriate reaction” from Bethesda, especially for a first-time offense. Many others claim that they regularly see CAMPS with political messaging on them, referencing figures such as Donald Trump and MAGA, as well as just generally inappropriate signage.

We don’t know whether this backlash is enough to get this player’s account reinstated, as Bethesda seems pretty clear in its stance on political signage, but fans have managed toraise the issue with one of Bethesda’s Community Managers, who goes by the name Ghostly_Rich on Reddit.
