AtTokyo Game Showthis year, we spoke to Fatal Fury veteran and City of the Wolves producer Yasuyuki Oda, who shared more about the Capcom collaboration and who his dream characters would be.

Yasuyuki Oda Really Wants Michael Jackson In Fatal Fury

During my interview with Oda-san, I asked him to choose his ideal guest fighter for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, to which his translator instantly replied, “You don’t want to know.” Oda-san then rattled off a list of famous names that he’d clearly been thinking about for a long time.

“Michael Jackson. Sylvester Stallone. Bruce Willis. Everyone is so cool. Hollywood. Jackie Chan. The cast of The Expendables. The entire Expendables crew," he said before reiterating, “Everybody. And Michael Jackson.”

Were Michael Jackson to be added to the Fatal Fury roster, it wouldn’t be his first appearance in a video game. The controversial former popstar featured in a handful of games in the ’90s and ’00s, includingSpace Channel 5, as a character called Space Michael, Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker, andSonic the Hedgehog3. In fact, City of the Wolves wouldn’t even be the first fighting game he’d appeared in should it ever come to fruition, with Jackson featuring as a celebrity character in Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2.
