I am super pleased to inform my readers that today is one such day.Capcomand Fender just came together to unveil the most badass thing ever: a limited edition Telecaster that pays homage to the iconic Monster Hunter franchise.
I am not exaggerating when I say that the Rathalos Telecaster is a thing of beauty, a class apart from the regular Teles that we’re all used to. We’re getting this amazing silky red finish with some really cool feather and flame patterns. Let’s walk through some more details!
Slated to launch in March 2025, this special edition instrument commemorates the 20th year of the popular Monster Hunter game franchise with a hefty $2,000 price tag. I know, I know, it’s not something the average gear-head has the budget for. But given the quality of hardware we’re working with, and Fender’s history with special editions, I think the price is relatively justified.
Moving on, let’s talk about the hardware. We’re working with an alder body with a satin finish, a smooth maple neck, a smooth 9.5-inch radius ‘C’ shaped maple neck, rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, and custom Rathalos humbucker and single-coil pickups (HSS). There’s also a beautiful vintage four-ply tortoiseshell pickguard that compliments the guitar’s design and artwork really well.
HSS pickups sound their best when you pair them with the right amp, so make sure you have something that goes with the Tele if you’re planning to get one of these. I’d recommendthe ‘65 Deluxe.
That’s not it, though, we also have some exclusive extras that come with the guitar. There’s a rugged black hard case to keep your axe protected, with a custom badge on it designed just for this collaboration. There’s also a numbered neck plate so you may prove the authenticity of your limited edition shred machine. And, of course, you get a certificate to show everyone you own an official Rathalos Telecaster. This thing is so cool, I want to buy one despite being a Strat man through and through.
