Summary
Final Fantasy 14has a bunch of tricky content to try and overcome, which requires coordination among teammates to complete. While there’s plenty of eight man content to try out, there’s practically nothing for the challenge chasers out there that includes even more players.Well, that’s changing in Patch 7.1, as a new type of Alliance Raid is being added called Chaotic Alliance Raids.
As the name suggests, Chaotic Alliance Raids will be harder versions of existing Alliance Raids that will be playable by 24 people. In Final Fantasy 14 Live Letter 83, director Naoki Yoshida reveals that this new tier of Alliance Raid is a lot harder, more along the lines of a Savage Raid, and several screenshots are shared of the game’s first one.
Final Fantasy 14’s Latest Live Letter Reveals Chaotic Alliance Raids
Right now, the only Chaotic Alliance Raid that will beadded is World of Darkness, a fight that almost everyone will be pretty familiar with. However, instead of having players run through trash to get to the final boss, this special Chaotic Alliance Raid will dump players into the fight against the raid’s final boss immediately.
At least we won’t be fighting that five-headed dragon over and over again.
From the screenshots shared, we can see that the fight itself will be immensely chaotic, as the name kind of suggests. It will require a lot of teamwork among Alliances, so it’s likely that you’ll need pre-made parties to actually overcome the fight. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any footage of the fight in action, but it looks pretty intense.
Of course, there will be plenty of incentive to actually try out this special Alliance Raid, as Yoshi-P has explained that special rewards will be available for players that manage to complete it. He doesn’t share what these rewards are, but you’d expect it to be something fairly significant like armor. If these raids are popular, Yoshi-P hints that more could be added.
