Summary

Final Fantasy 16has been locked to the PS5 ever since release back in 2023, but that’s coming to an end soonthanks to the game’s upcoming launch on PC. Starting on September 17, players on PC can finally experience the story of Clive, Jill, and Joshua, while there is also likely a budding modding community waiting to get their hands on the game’s assets.

However, there is one particular asset that Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida would rather modders not play around with, as he recently expressed his desire for players to not make “offensive or inappropriate” mods when the game releases. These comments cameduring an interview with PC Gamer, in which Yoshia was asked whether there are any particular mods he’d like to see made.

“If we said ‘It’d be great if someone made xyz,’ it might come across as a request, so I’ll avoid mentioning any specifics here!” says Yoshida. “The only thing I will say is that we definitely don’t want to say anything offensive or inappropriate, so please don’t make or install anything like that.”

Final Fantasy 16 Producer Isn’t A Fan Of “Inappropriate” Mods

Yoshida’s comments are quite funny when you remember that he’s also the director of Final Fantasy 14, a game that makes me shudder to think of how many mods are currently in circulation that tear the game’s terms of service to shreds. He can’t be oblivious to the fact that raunchy mods will be the first thing that are made as a result of the game’s release on PC, especially after so many werethirsting for Clive during the Final Fantasy 14 crossover.

In fact, we know from very recent experience that gamers will download smutty mods as soon as they’re able, with games likeResident Evil 4andStreet Fighter 6getting raunchy mods mere days after release. The latter even led to a very awkward moment in an official tournament, as theyforgot to switch off their starkers Chun-Li mod before hosting a fight. Sorry Yoshi-P, the inappropriate mods are on the way, whether you like it or not.
