There’s no timeline yet, but it did ask players to “wait for further information”, so keep an eye on its socials if you want to know when things will be back to normal — in the meantime,Clive Rosefieldhas to suffer a very strange lightshow.

Some Of The Bugs Final Fantasy 16 Players Are Running Into

One look at social media and you’ll see countless reports of visual hiccups and crashes plaguing fans right now. One very distracting issue is major flickering and distortions while the skybox rapidly disappears and reappears, followed by game-breaking freezes. But hey, at leastthe musicis calming.

Others, likeReddit user Logan-Lance, claim that their PS5 turned off completely while playing the game after the software update. Others in the comments corroborated this, saying that they too had run into a “complete hard shutdown after a cutscene”, which required them to rebuild the database and repair their external HDD.

Cutscenes aren’t immune to this problem, either. As you can see above, visual glitches prevail even during intimate moments, with textures blacking out as lights go haywire.

It’s unclear why the firmware update has broken Final Fantasy 16 in particular, but hopefully things are ironed out soon.
