This season ofFortniteis all aboutMarvel. We’ve got the infamous War Machine’s jetpack, arsenal, and auto turret,the also infamous Captain America’s shield, and hey! The infamous Doctor Doom gloves (people really hate fun). But Epic Games is adding even more Mythics to give the whole event some extra superhero flair.
The lootpool has already been updated withMagneto Mythic from last seasonand the new Shuri’s Claws, while Gwenpool now sells her themed dual SMG. Dataminers have also uncovered two Iron Man items set to be added in a later update—his flight and combat kits. But perhaps most excitingly, the iconic Infinity Gauntlet is returning.
According to reputable leaker Shiina, “The new Marvel [Limited Time Mashup] seems to revolve around Doctor Doom trying to collect all the Infinity Stones. Hero items and Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets will be available in the loot pool. You either have to stop him from collecting the stones, or you’re on his side as ‘Doom’s Chosen’”.
The Infinity Gauntlet Was Fortnite’s First-Ever Mythic
Six years ago,Fortnite held the Infinity Gauntlet LTMin collaboration with Marvel as promo for the new Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame films. It was one of the first major crossovers in the game, a huge sign of things to come, and the Infinity Gauntlet was even Fortnite’s very first Mythic.
Whoever picked up the Gauntlet would transform into Thanos with all of his unique abilities. You could use it to punch enemies or shoot lasers at them, and you would grow stronger the more stones you collected. According to leakerHypex, this time “it’s an ‘Ultra Doom Armor’ Mythic that turns you into Doom” and will be found at the upcoming Rift POI.
However, Nanass has since shared a clip of them transforming into Doom at the newly updated Loot Island, so we’ll just have to wait and see how the Infinity Gauntlet works — if it’s as Hypex says or something else entirely.
