Summary

The Incredibles have made their way into Fortnite, and gamers can take Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone into the world ofEpic Games' live-service shooter.

Beyond the novelty of seeing Mr. Incredible hit the Griddy, or Frozone teaming up with Goku and Billie Eilish, there is one element that has fans talking: Capes.

Please Don’t Tell Edna!

That’s because, if you’ve ever watched The Incredibles (and we hope you have), then you’ll know that there is one non-negotiable element of being a superhero, and that’s wearing a cape. Don’t take it from us, either. Edna Mode, the franchise’s eccentric costume designer, detests them and for good reason, too.

As it turns out, though, The Incredibles can have capes equipped. Naturally, of course, fans are losing their minds. If Edna was around she would be upset too. It’s her one rule!

Immediately following The Incredibles' launch in Fortnite, fans began having fun with the whole cape element. One user on Reddit even took it upon themselves to create a fake “Banned” message for daring to equip Mr. Incredible with a cape.

“Now we know Edna Mode is working at Epic,“one user joked in response to the epic Photoshop.

Of course, she wouldn’t have found out if so many users weren’t blatantly telling on themselves by showcasing their creations. Like this user on Reddit, for example, who decided the world should know that they broke the cape wearing rules.

That said, while many are taking the feature in jest, some were hoping that capes wouldn’t be an equippable item to keep the joke alive. For example,Mjölnir isn’t available to every character because they’re not worthy like Thor is. Whichever way you come down on the debate, it’s still awesome to see the joke referenced one way or the other. It’s exactly what makes video games awesome.
