Summary
Hades 2is out now in early access, meaning fans of the title are waiting eagerly for developer Supergiant Games to release the next update. Thankfully, that wait is now over, as Supergiant has revealed that the first Major Update for Hades 2 is now available, and has outlined exactly what’s being added to the gamein the update’s patch notes. Spoilers, it’s quite a lot.
Hades 2 Gets First Major Update Following Early Access Launch
For starters, a brand-new region is being added to the game, which will see Melinoe traverse the mountains of Olympus. We know that Olympus is the home of the Greek gods, so it also makes sense that you’d run into a few on your adventure through the region. Supergiant has revealed that players will be able to encounter two new allies in Olympus, though we won’t spoil which ones here.
Once you reach Olympus, you’ll also be greeted with some more story, as Supergiant explains that “hours of new dialogue” have been added in this patch that will see the story of the game progress. On top of all of this, a new weapon called Xinth, The Black Coat has been added, as have two new familiars that you’re able to bond with, as well as a bunch of new cosmetics for you to spruce up the Crossroads. If you want to see it for yourselves, Supergiant hasreleased a trailer to mark the occasion.
With the game’s first Major Update, a big step has been taken towards Hades 2’s full release. Supergiant has been relatively shy about giving us a date for when Hades 2 will leave early access, but it did claim earlier this yearnot to expect it to launch before 2025. The first Hades spent almost two years in early access, so it’s fairly likely those waiting for the full release to jump in will have to be patient until 2026. Still, at least we know it will be worth the wait.
