Summary

Yesterday, while most of the gaming industry’s focus was on 343 Industries being rebranded as Halo Studios, along with word that future Halo games would be developed on Unreal Engine 5 andthe fact that “multiple” new games are in development, there was one element that completely flew over everyone’s heads, us included.

Hidden within the announcement video was the date 27-05-2025. That just so happens to be the date of the 10th anniversary ofHalo: The Master Chief Collection.

In other words,Halo Studiosmight be gearing up for some sort of 10-year anniversary update for its compilation title. Because we live in the age of teasers and hidden meanings, we’re going to wager that the poster wasn’t some sort of accident.

What Exactly Could Be Coming?

It’s hard to say what exactly, if anything at all, will be coming to The Master Chief Collection. That’s because the game has received several updates over the past several years to include the likes of Halo Reach, as well as Halo 3: ODST, making it the definitive collection. That said, the inclusion of Halo 5 would truly make the collection feel complete.

There’s also a lane where Halo 3 could get some sort of update. Of the included games, 3 feels the most dated, particularly if you happen to play the games in order due to Combat Evolved and 2 being remastered.

The final potential element could be a third-person mode. Already,Halo Studios has showcased a work-in-progress video for Halo Infinite’s third-person mode. Perhaps that’s not the only game getting a different POV option.

Either way, it’ll be fascinating to see what exactly happens on November 11. That date just so happens to fall on a Monday, so a perfect window for an update. Of course, maybe nothing happens altogether, but we’re going to pretend otherwise.
