Summary
Player satisfaction withHelldivers 2has been all over the place in recent months. The biggest controversy by far was the- something whichwould have locked some countries out of playing altogether- but this wasreversed after an intense review bombing campaign. Then, after a period of goodwill, it came crashing down once again with the Escalation of Freedom update, which made some unpopular balancing changes, and none more so thanthe decision to nerf flamethrowers.
Now, developer Arrowhead has revealed thatthis is being reversed, and more buffs will be made. This seems to have appeased the community, as Helldivers 2 is now recovering from its latest wave of review bombing on Steam, rising to “mixed” reviews once again.
Helldivers 2 Reviews Are Back Up To Mixed On Steam
As you’re able to see on theSteam page, there are still a fair amount of negative reviews coming in, but there are enough positive ones now to stop the recent reviews from falling into the “mostly negative” category again. It looks like the reveal that buffs are on the way, including for flamethrowers, has gone a long way in pleasing the community.
Overall reviews for Helldivers 2 are still mostly positive, despite the periodic review bombing campaigns.
However, there are still some other grievances being mentioned in the negative reviews. One that stands out is the decision tolock a new stratagem behind the premium warbond(Helldivers 2’s version of a battle pass). These warbonds are bought with Super Credits, which can admittedly be earned in-game, but this is still the first time a stratagem has been exclusive to the premium tier.
We’ll have to wait and see if the promised buffs are enough to keep players happy in the long run. Arrowhead has made it clear thatnerfs will happen again in the future, but for now, it seems like the current crisis is over - or at least put on hold.
