Helldivers 2’s Jump Pack Will Be Getting Buffed Soon
Responding to a fans' question on Twitter asking whether there were plans to lower the Jump Pack’s cooldown, Arrowhead Studio’s chief creative officer Pilestedt simply said, “We are looking at the Jump Pack next patch”, signalling another win for players.
It’s clear that a Jump Pack buff was needed. A recent Reddit thread gained serious traction, withplayers making suggestions as to what Arrowhead could do with the underpowered stratagem.
Currently, the Jump Pack offers a slightly boosted jump and has a long cooldown timer. However, fans have been desperate for it to work more like a traditional jetpack, allowing them to float through the air for longer periods.
A few months back, the team at Arrowhead added the Dark Fluid Jump Pack into Helldivers 2, which offered a higher jump and a faster recharge rate, something that fans are keen for them to replicate, but they have admitted that even copying the Dark Fluid Jump Pack’s recharge rate would be more than enough to satisfy them.
It’s evident from Helldivers 2’s most recent patch and this upcoming one that the team at Arrowhead is looking to make amends. Over the last couple of months, the game’s player count has dipped significantly, the devshave sought fan feedback, andit’s been review-bombed multiple timesoff the back of a range of strange decisions and what the community considers unnecessary nerfs. And, with theIlluminate seemingly on the horizon, it looks like things will continue to go from strength to strength for the Game of the Year candidate.
