Within the first 24 hours of being live on Steam,Horizon Zero DawnRemastered was hit with more than 100 negative reviews, most sharing their anger atPlayStation’ssign-in requirements, which, at this point, should come as no surprise.
Alongside the account requirement, players have cited infrequent crashing issues and the need to be connected to the internet, despite it being a single-player game, as reasons for their negative reviews.
One comment suggested, “Mandatory account linking has no place in single player game,” in their review, becoming one of the most liked assessments on the platform.
However, despite this, Steam says the game sits at around61 percent positive reviewswith the game’s graphical overhaul the main source of joy.
Despite dozens of negative reviews, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered’s launch is far from the most controversial PlayStation x Steam crossover this year.Ghost of Tsushima’s PC port was pulled from Steamin countries that don’t have PSN access, with the Valve-owned platformforced to issue refunds to those affected, and Helldivers 2’s launch was marred withArrowhead and Sony flip-floppingon the requirements, leading to review-bombingandcalls for refundsfrom the game’s then-thriving player base.
