Horizon Zero Dawnis getting a remaster, coming toPlayStation 5andPC. This was just revealed at PlayStation’s State of Play showcase, giving us a look at the latest remaster from Sony.
This remaster comes more than seven years since the release of the original Horizon Zero Dawn, which launched on PS4 in 2017. This is its first re-release since its PC port in 2020, and the first time ever that it’s been remastered.
Horizon Zero Dawn Is Getting A Remaster
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is a large undertaking, including completely re-recorded motion capture and voice acting. During the State of Play, it was also said that the remaster will bring the first game in line with its PS5 sequel,Horizon Forbidden West, so the devs are aiming to match those visuals.
The Horizon Zero Dawn remaster was announced as we get closer tothe launch of Lego Horizon Adventures. This spin-off covers the events of the first game, albeit reimagined with a Lego aesthetic. This will launch shortly after the remaster, with Lego Horizon Adventures coming to PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 14.
PlayStation hasn’t been short of re-releases in recent years. It’s ported a number of its titles to PC and has released a few remasters and remakes, most notably a couple for The Last of Us (The Last of Us Part 1 and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered). Now, with Horizon Zero Dawn getting the same treatment, it looks like this is a strategy that PlayStation is sticking to.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered launches on October 31. It will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PC from launch, rather than having temporary console exclusivity like many Sony releases.
