When you enter the world ofOnce Human, you’ll find plenty of hostile creatures and people that will attempt to take you down. In your quest of survival, you need to be heavily equipped with the right weapons and gear. You can find all sorts of resources that will enable you to craft your weapons, ensuring your safety.
Guns are an obvious choice of weapon when it comes to a post-apocalyptic world. If you want a quieter option or one that allows you to get up close and personal with your enemies, there are plenty of melee weapons to choose from. Of course, certain melee weapons are better than others.
How To Obtain
You can craft this using aGear Workbench.
ATorchis a pretty standard need when it comes to being stuck in a survival situation. This is a relatively weak weapon that deals the least amount of damage to enemies with every blow. It’s also not as fast to swing around and does not give you much range.
It’s not bad to have one in your bag if you have no other melee weapons however because you may ignite targets with it. Enemies hit with the Torch will suffer from Burn Damage, making it great for dealing some elemental pain.
8Wrench
You can obtain the blueprint from a Mystical Crate at Harborside.
TheWrenchis a basic weapon that can deal considerable damage. If you want maximum impact, you’ll need to swing at enemies with heavy attacks. Landing a heavy attack will inflict Blunt Damage on your enemies.
You will need to have a lot of stamina while wielding this weapon because heavy attacks use up a chunk of your stamina when performed. If you have a lot of remaining stamina, your Blunt Damage can go up to a maximum of 25 percent.
7Northern Pike
It’s a bit ridiculous to be wielding a large fish as a weapon during an apocalypse, right? That’s precisely why theNorthern Pikewill drain your sanity when you use it. It’s not the weakest melee weapon you can get your hands on by any means, it’s just terribly punishing.
Every hit with the Northern Pike deals Blunt Damage on targets with a PSI Intensity of five percent. The trade-off is that you lose five points of sanity with every hit as well.
You can craft this using a Gear Workbench.
A knife is a must when you’re out in a survival situation. TheCamping Knifeis one melee weapon you can also use to defend yourself against Deviants but it’s not that strong, nor does it offer much speed and range.
It ranks higher than other melee weapons however because with regular melee hits, you have a 33 percent chance of dealing additional damage of about 50 percent of your melee attack damage. This means that you’re likely to deal a sudden burst of damage every three hits.
You can unlock the blueprint in the Memetics menu.
Next in the ranking is theBaseball Bat, but not because of its damage. It’s not any stronger than other melee weapons, but the first heavy attack makes this weapon truly shine. Apart from dealing Blunt Damage with your first heavy attack, you also reduce how much damage the target deals to you by 30 percent for 15 seconds.
That reduced damage can allow you to take more hits while dealing your own attacks at maximum damage. The downside is this effect doesn’t work on bosses and on other Meta-humans.
4Stun Baton
You can obtain the blueprint from a Mystical Crate in Holt Town.
Real melee damage starts to roll in with theStun Baton. This weapon deals more damage compared to the other melee weapons, but the real magic behind it is its ability to inflict Power Surge. Dealing light strikes with the baton will grant you an 80 percent chance to trigger a Power Surge on your targets.
When these targets have the Power Surge status, hit them with a heavy attack to inflict Shock Damage equal to 100 percent PSI intensity on surrounding enemies.
3Long Axe
You can obtain the blueprint from a Mystical Crate in Ricci Securement Point.
TheLong Axecan really dish out a lot of damage, but that’s not the only thing it can boast. It gives you longer reach despite being slow, and using heavy attacks with it will activate a Fortress Warfare. Every ten seconds, you can trigger this effect again.
Also, every target hit with heavy attacks will give all your weapons an increase in Crit Rate of eight percent for ten seconds, not to mention an increased melee swing speed of five percent. This boost can stack up to three times, making it supplement your other weapons beautifully.
2The Fabled Masamune
You can obtain the blueprint from the Wish Machine, or you can obtain it from Weapon Crates, and clearing Monoliths or Silos.
The Fabled Masamune is every samurai fan’s dream. This gorgeous legendary weapon isn’t as powerful as the Long Axe, but it’s definitely just as deadly. The sword rewards you for keeping it well-maintained, granting an additional three percent in Crit Damage up to a total of 120 percent for every percent above 50 percent durability it has.
Every percent below 20 percent durability will drop your sword’s attack damage by two percent.
Using a quick attack after drawing your sword will also grant you a 30 percent increase in damage and a guaranteed Critical Hit.
1Frozen Northern Pike
you’re able to obtain the blueprint from Margerie’s harbor in the Red Sands region.
On top of the list is theFrozen Northern Pikeallowing you to freely enjoy the insanity of whacking enemies with a fish with a chilly twist. Dealing heavy attacks on targets will freeze the primary target and generate a Frost Vortex.
If you attack the target with a Frost Vortex, you regain five percent of your lost health points. This makes it a great weapon when you’re against a lot of hard-hitting enemies. It’s also the perfect weapon to have when running a Frost Vortex build.
