How To Prepare For The Forsaken Giant

To prepare for your fight against the Forsaken Giant, you need toprepare the correct loadout and useful items.

You’ll only have a short window for shooting at its weak spot. It’s better tohave a long-range automatic weaponso that you can shower it with bullets as quickly as possible.

Close-range weapons can be used to deal with the Deviantsthat will be chasing you during the fight.

Fill your bag withhealing items andAdrenaline Shots. Consider also having aStardust Energy DrinkorSpring Legsto consume so you won’t have any trouble jumping across the different platforms.

When it comes to the Combat Deviant that you should bring, you should consider theLonewolf’s Whisperfor dealing with the mobs orFestering Gelfor quick healing and defense. Of course, you can take your own personal play style into consideration when picking your Deviant companion.

Forsaken Giant Phase One

The fight against the Forsaken Giant takes place ina large room with a platform. You will face the Deviant whilerunning around the platform to avoid its attacks.

Past the edge of the platform is a drop. Make sure tostay away from the edgesor you risk falling and dying. The Forsaken Giant also has attacks that willknock you away, so avoid being close to the edge when it starts preparing to attack you.

Like every Deviant, the Forsaken Giant has aweak spot. This spotglows red, but itmoves around its body during the fightdepending on the stage it is in. For maximum damage, aim for this spotwhen you’re shooting at it.

During the first phase of the battle, the Forsaken Giant hastwo attacks:

When it slams its fist on the ground, you canrun away so it misses or rollat the exact moment its fist meets the ground.

Make sure tojump right after the Forsaken Giant hits the groundbecause the impact will create a shock wave.

For the sweeping attack, run away from itas quickly as possible. When the arm reaches the other end,it lifts from the groundjust enough so that you can avoid it.

During the first phase, the Forsaken Giant will alsospend a few moments crying. It will thendrop Handling Giant Flower Buds, which you can pick up andthrow at itwhen it covers its weak spot with its hands.

Hitting the boss with the buds may cause it toget stunned and display its weak spot for a few momentsso you can get a few great shots in.

In this phase, the Forsaken Giant will alsosummon Gnawers that will chase youaround the battlefield. You can either shoot them to clear them out or outrun them.

They willeventually die on their own. If dealing with them proves to be a problem, you canhave a Deviant focus on themoruse a turretthat can spray them with bullets while you focus on the giant.

Forsaken Giant Phase Two

In the second phase of the fight against the Forsaken Giant, you’ll encountertwo new attacks:

The attack phases of the Forsaken Giant willcycle throughout the battle. It maygo back to the first phaseat any time.

When the Forsaken Giant is about to perform the attack that could destroy the battlefield, you willreceive a warning at the top of your screen. When this happens, it will disappear from in front of you anda large beam will begin tracking you.

When the Forsaken Giant reappears, it will quicklyslam its fist onto the groundandshatter it.

Each platform it hits will sustainthree hits until it crumbles. You need to carefullypick a platform to stand onso that the stage does not sustain too much damage.

If the Forsaken Giant performs the fist slam attack several times, you canhave it destroy the left or the right platforms first. As much as possible, keep the center platform safeso that you don’t end up with a hole in the center of the battlefield.

When it starts charging up for the black mass attack, keep moving around. The black orbs it sends out will keep tracking you and willdeal damageif they come in contact with you.

You can avoid the large black mass byrunning to a different platform from where it’s heading. Itmoves relatively slowso you can predict where it will land and move away.

During this phase, the Forsaken Giant will alsosummon additional Deviants to the field. The types of Deviants that will appear willdiffer depending on what difficulty you’re runningthe fight on.

Forsaken Giant Phase Three

During the third phase, the Forsaken Giant will startwrithing in pain. When this happens, red beams will shoot upfrom the ground. Anythingwithin a small radius around these beamswill take damage.

Move around the platformsto avoid the beams until the boss calms down.

It’s important tohave enough space to move around for this phase, so as much as possibleprevent the Forsaken Giant from destroying the center platform. Otherwise, you will have tojump across or pass through a small ledgealong the edges of the field.

While avoiding its various attacks, verify to keepdealing damage to the giant’s weak spots. If you find it too difficult, you canform a team of fourand the enemies will have tosplit their attentionduring the fight.

As a reward for beating the Forsaken Giant,aNutcrackerDeviant may spawn and be secured. You will also be able touse aControllerto unlock the rewards dropped by the giant.
