In the modern age of gaming, it’s rare to see story-focused single-player games with triple-A budgets, but that’s exactly whatUnknown 9: Awakeningdoes with the soul-jumping tale of Haroona, a Queastor out for revenge.
With Unknown 9: Awakening clearly focusing on bringing us back to the days of linear single-player adventures, you might be wondering just how long it’ll take you to beat it, especially with games like Metaphor: ReFantazio out and Dragon Age: The Veilguard on the horizon. Wonder no more, as that’s where we come in.
How Long Does The Story Take To Finish?
Unknown 9: Awakening’s story is made up of 13 different chapters, with all of the ones taking place outside of the Morningstar (the main hub) being around the same length.On Normal difficulty, it took me around 10 - 11 hours to finish Unknown 9’s story, which I did without having too much trouble with its difficulty and without spending too much time hunting for collectibles.
On my first playthrough,I had gathered just over 50 percent of the collectibles by the time I hit the credits, which I did without taking too much time to try and find everything.
That number will likely increase if you play on harder difficulties,but it’s worth noting that there’s also a Story difficulty that makes things much easier and lets you focus on the narrative, which will undoubtedly also have an effect on how long the game is. Considering my playthrough didn’t see much get stuck too much,I imagine a Story playthrough would take around 8 - 10 hours.
How Long Does It Take To 100 Percent Complete?
Beating Unknown 9’s story is one thing, but 100 percenting is going to take a bit more time.Each chapter in the game has a bunch of different collectibles for Haroona to find, ranging from health and Am upgrades to bits of lore dotted around the world. There are quite a lot of these and some can be hard to find, so getting them all will be a challenge.
That being said,there is a chapter select option in the main menu that lets you revisit levels with your current powersand collect anything you missed, meaning a second playthrough isn’t necessary. There are no difficulty-based trophies either, so you just need to hop back in and clean up whatever you need to find. With that in mind,100 percenting Unknown 9: Awakening is going to take you around 12 - 15 hours overall.
If you’re specifically aiming for the Platinum trophy,Unknown 9 also has a range of challenges based on specific takedowns that you’ll need to complete, such as pushing an enemy into an explosive while Shrouded and stealthily killing Elite 10 enemies. These won’t addtoomuch time to your playthrough, but they do require a bit of legwork to do.
