Quick Links
Set within the sprawling streets of Shibuya,Reynatisinvites you to take in the sights of Shibuya during your journey to destroy Rubrum, unravel the mystery of magic, and help Marin to become the strongest wizard in all of history. It’s a simple goal, and one that doesn’t expand too much past that initial premise.
So how long could it possible take you to complete such a journey? Graciously, Reynatis is not an exceptionally long experience at all, clocking in at a much more reasonable length than most other games tend to. That said, the gameplay on offer can still end up feeling a bit dry by time you’ve reached the end.
How Long Does It Takes To Beat?
Reynatis takes place across 34 Chapters. They vary in length quite dramatically. Some take place across the whole of Shibuya, others are just a short jaunt and a quick area, while some are entirely composed by just cutscenes. As such, the number of Chapters isn’t actually something you can derive an average time in the game from.
Thankfully, your time spent playing the game isrecorded at each save point, which tends to track your play time much more fairly. On average, you’ll likely hitaround 20-25 hours to hit the end of the story. This accounts for a small amount of side content, soyou could likely shave it down to just 15-20 hoursif you were playing just the story. That’s a decent length, one that doesn’t overstay its welcome.
How Long Does It Take To 100%
WhileReynatis may not be an exceptionally long game, it’s side content is less than stellar. All of it revolves around four specific things, listed below:
These tasks never offer any variation. If you have seen one of them, you have seen all of them. You can’t bee-line them either asthey unlock as the story progresses, meaning everything is unlocked at a relatively even pace. As such, you’re better off justcompleting content as it appearsso you don’t become overburdened by the end.
Try to walk to most of your destinations instead of fast traveling so you canfind any new Wizarts or reports along the wayto your objective.
Taking all of that into account, you canexpect your playtime to shoot up to around 35-40 hours. The majority of this time will be spent searching for hidden reports as they are invisible unless you’re Liberated. Since this causes your Trending rank to rise, it’s best towait until you’ve gotten the Item Hunter Wizartafter you’ve beaten the story. With a handy guide, you can cut that time down dramatically.
Is There Endgame Content?
Beyond what is counted within the game, is there anything else to do? In reality, not really.Nothing brand new unlocks once you finish the storyin terms of activities to do, so what you see in the achievements menu is basically everything the game has to offer.
Many of theoptional Fog Gates recommend you be level 99before challenging them, so you may need to grind post-game to be able to beat them.
There are two exceptions to this, however. For one, there areplentiful cats that appear around Shibuyafor you to pet, though their locations can be a bit random and they are mainly to reduce your stress and nothing else. Other than this, there are theadditional episodes added with updates.
While not all of these episodes are available at launch, though theyonly take about 10-20 minutes each. As such, they would likely only add an hour or two to your total playtime once they’re all available.
The additional episodes areaccessed from the computer in the Church backrooms, and take place separately from the main game.
So as a grand total, you’re looking at thereabouts40-45 hours if you’re taking your timeto see everything, though that can easily be cut down if you want to finish up your time with Reynatis sooner.
