How Do You Unlock New Filters In Silent Hill 2 Remake?
When you boot up Silent Hill 2 for the first time, you’ll be run through all the various settings in the game to get you into your preferred set-up. One of those options is theGraphics Mode. Unlike the Graphic Priority option, this determines what filter you want to apply to the game. At this point, you will only have access tothe Default and 90s filters.
Keep in mind thatColorblind Mode cannot be activatedalongside the various filters.
To unlock the remaining filters, of which there are quite a few,you need to first beat the game first. The difficulty of both combat and puzzles is irrelevant, as well as the ending you get. Beat the game just once, and you willunlock all the other filters the game has to offer. From there, you simply return to the Graphics Mode option and change the filter to whatever you want.

So, just how many filters does the game have on offer, and what does each of them look like? In total, including the Default filter,the game has 10 filtersfor you to choose from. All of them are pretty distinct from each other as well, changing the game’s visual style dramatically.

While all of these are very cool, they were clearly not the way the game was intended to be played. As such, it can make it much harder to identify objects in the world andlighting doesn’t have the same clarity as in the Default filter. Keep this in mind while playing with any of the other filters applied. Otherwise, enjoy your Silent Hill 2 experience with a touch of a more classic feel.
