Five Nights at Freddy’swas a resounding success, opening up the floodgates for the indie horror market. Arguably, you could point to Five Nights at Freddy’s as the beginning stages of the indie game market becoming much more prominent for mainstream audiences.

Not only does it have an entire series of video games that are usually well-beloved by its fans, but it also has books, board games, merchandise of all kinds, and an entire movie. Of course, its continued popularity has only been feasible because of a continued string of game and DLC releases over several years, even after Scott Cawthon stepped back.

There Are 19 Five Nights At Freddy’s Games

In total, there are19 different Five Nights at Freddy’s games, thoughonly 11 of them are actually in the main series.

The other eight are technically spin-off gamesthat were usually made torelease tidbits of loreor to hype the series back up for the release of a new mainline game.

The first game,Five Nights at Freddy’s, was launched in 2014by Scott Cawthorn, who proceeded to make and release the indie horror series until 2019. After that, the reins were handed over toSteel Wool Games who launched Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breachin 2021 to mixed reviews.

Security Breach was a bit of a buggy mess on launch, though it was a daringmove away from the traditional formattingfor the series and that had people interested enough to keep playing. However, it’s safe to say that with some patches and the launch of the DLC, Ruin, people have come to love this game well.

Out of those 19 games, one main game and one series are set to be released in 2025, while another, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Survival Crew, is still waiting for its release date to be announced.
