Teamfight TacticsSet 12 had some mid-set changes, from minor balance adjustments to entirely new augments and items. However, one of the quieter changes to come to the game went under the radar, while offering keen-eyed players a great reward if they focused on a new objective.
One of the common goals in a match of TFT is to level up your units from the base one-star level to the maximum three-star level. Ever since a formerly legendary unit Jhin allowed players to hit the four-star level and brought the idea to light, players have been waiting to be able to do so again, and a patch in Set 12 has reintroduced that mechanic.
How To 4-Star 1-Cost Units In Set 12
Starring up units in TFT is relatively simple:collecting one-star units in groups of three. Three one-star units create a two-star unit, and three two-star units create a three-star unit.
To complete a four-star unit, a player needsthree three-star copies of a one-star unit. For this patch,this is only possible with one-cost unitsbecause that rarity hasthe largest pool of unitsin Set 12. Even then,extra help is neededin the form ofduplicators.
Now, normally it isnear impossible to roll down and find one-cost unitsthathave already been three-starred, but there is a clever way to find more.Instead of rolling down between combats, specificallytry rolling down just as you teleportto another player’s board.
This bugmakes the game think you have no units on your boardduring that short window, so the game will effectively forget you have a three-star unit,allowing you to find more of it easily.
