Even in this futuristic setting, one of the sneaky side missions is both simple and one of the most challenging aspects of the game: naturally befriending a local cat.
Cats are all over ZZZ, from how the game first introduces the photo mode to partly feline agents like Nekomata. However, players are guaranteed to meet these cats along the story missions, where finding Inky and befriending him takes a lot more continuous effort and some precise choices.
How To Find Inky
To find Inky and begin this slow process of adoption, you need tofind the cat around Sixth Street at Midnight. Keep in mind that the evening is when the sun is still out, as when it gets dark, that is the midnight time in ZZZ.

If you can’t find the black cat from these above locations,there is a chance that Inky won’t show upthat in-game day. Do commissions and rest up for the next one to go through the search for Inky once again.
One note about Inky is thathe is connected to the agent Solider 11. Youdo not needto haveunlocked Solider 11 to adoptInky, but you will have tohave completed the Solider 11 story quests to start the Inky adoption process, accessible in the back room of your video store in the Videos section. The Solider 11 quests are named Mole in the Hole.
How To Raise Inky’s Trust Level
The next thing to do if you want to adopt Inky is tobuild up trust, marked as trust levels, byfinding and talking to Inkyover many days.
After finding Inky for the first time,the text box will offer one key choiceto start:pet the cat or watch from a distance. Choose towatch from a distance. This same option from above will appearmultiple timesin your early trust level, anduntil you reach the different dialogue optionfor pet or feed, justdon’t pet the cat.
When you reach thatpet/feed option, itdepends on which dialogue option precedes it. Whether you’re a player who skips through dialogue quickly or someone who makes sure to read every word, thisanswer depends on whether Inky is hungry or affectionate. If the wrong option is chosen, the trust level will go down.
If you do end up needing to feed Inky, you do need to buy some cat food from the 141 Convenience Store ahead of time. Since this trust level can appear without much forewarning besides staring at a cat, buying cat food is a need to get Inky adopted as fast as possible.
Theway to tell the dialogue apartis simple: If thetext says “Maybe it’s…?”, thencat food is what you need. If it’s"Perhaps it’s…?", thenyou can pet the cat.
You’ll know when the next trust level is unlocked becauseyou’ll see Inky hangingaroundSixth Street much more often, especially with other local cats. At this point, a third option will appear, and thistrio of choicesallows for the most potential trust increase.
When the three options appear,thebest option is “Feed the little black cat”. This willstill require cat food, but this offers the most trust bonus.
When you reachthe final text-specific stage, it will whittle down to another choice that depends on the text that precedes it. This time, it changes based onwhich version of ‘Meow’you get from Inky. Justa regular meow requires food, buta meow with purringmeanshe wants to be pet.
The only other way to improve the trust level with Inky isplaying hide-and-seek, whichcan be triggered when Inky is at a high trust levelwith the player. Thelocations will be similar to the ones players first spotted Inky atbut with more variation.
How To Adopt Inky
When you build Inky’s trust level to its absolute maximum, there are stilla couple of prerequisites before you can adopt him. First, there arefive different commissionslinked to Inky that will naturally appear as you get past the above trust levels.
The five are titledSpending Time With Inky,Inky’s Request,Warrior Of The Abyss Needs Backup,Eat Up Inky, andA Date With A Black Cat. Then, alongsidecompleting the Solider 11 story titled Mole In The Hole, the player will get access to theAdoption Plancommission.
Keep in mind that the player will need to beat least level 32 andhaveunlocked the Chapter 2 Interlude.Then, they will geta message from Solider 11about Inky to start the adoption plan.
