After defeating the N’Erudian Reaper, you’ll have the chance to interact with Alepsis-Taura, and this entity later becomes a challenging boss you’ll need to face.

This boss becomes accessible once you reach the farthest point in the DLC version of N’Erud. Alepsis-Taura is a massive, intelligent entity that changes shape and size, constantly covering its weak spot and using unpredictable attacks to keep you on your toes.

Alepsis-Taura Boss Location

Alepsis-Taura is the final bossof The Dark Horizon DLC, and if you’veactivated One-Shot mode, you’reguaranteed to encounterthis boss. To reach Alepsis-Taura, you’ll need tomake your way to a location called The Convergence, the farthest point in the DLC. You can also see this location by interacting with a World Stone.

Unlike most bosses,Alepsis-Taura doesn’t immediately triggera fight. Instead, as you approach the arena, you’ll have theoption to either engagein conversation orturn back. If you feel your build or gear isn’t optimized for the battle, you can choose to leave. However, if you’re ready, selecting theother option will trigger the boss fight.

Description

Swiping Razors

During the fight with Alepsis-Taura, the stones surrounding the boss’s circular bodymorph into razor-sharp blades. After a brief pause, the bossswipes the blades twice in quick succession. You’ll know the attack is coming when you hear a bell sound, signaling that the blades are about to strike.

Four Smashing Walls

Alepsis-Taura also transforms its body andsummons four rotating wallsaround itself. It then ascends into the air before slamming both the walls and its body into the ground, creatinga powerful shockwaveat the point of impact.

Black AoE Wave

Once the boss slams the ground, it unleashesa black AoE wave that expands outward, covering the arena. To avoid this,dodge roll into the waveas it approaches. This wave comes back towards the boss after a few seconds' delay so time your dodges accordingly to avoid getting hit.

Vertical Projections

After sending the Black AoE wave, the boss willfire vertical energy projectionsfrom the spaces between the four walls. You’ll notice a couple of silhouettes right before these projections are fired, giving you enough time to move out of the way and avoid the hit.

Mirror Projectiles

Similar to the four smashing walls, the boss will cast mirrored versions of the massive walls from the air, sending them toward you. To avoid taking damage, you can eitherrun out of their path or dodge directly toward the projectilesto evade the hit.

AoE Explosion

The boss at times doesan AoE explosionmostly after ending an attack. It briefly charges up by lowering itself to the ground before releasing the blast.

Ring Projectiles

The boss alsosummons rings around itself, launching them in two patterns: one variation fires a single horizontal ring, while the other fires two vertical rings.

Tentacle Ground Smash

When youreduce the boss’s health to about half, it transforms and grows larger, summoning tentacles around it. The first attack it usually performs isslamming a tentacle onto the ground, often aimed at where you’re standing.

Tentacle Swipe

After smashing the ground with its tentacles, the boss will also performa tentacle swipe attack. You can time your dodge and roll out of danger to avoid getting hit.

Tentacle Ranged Hit

Occasionally, the boss willhover in the air and extend a tentacleto hit you from a distance. This attack typically happens twice in quick succession.

Star Projectiles

In the final phase, when the boss grows to nearly fill the battle arena, it willfire star-like projectiles from afar. These arehoming attacksthat follow you for a short time, but you can dodge roll, or outrun them to avoid getting hit.

Wall Projectiles

Similar to the earlier mirror projectiles, the boss will alsolaunch a massive wall-like projectiletoward you. To evade it, dodge toward the projectile just before it reaches you.

How To Beat Alepsis-Taura Boss

Aftertriggering the boss fight, thearena transforms into a circular, watery platform whereAlepsis-Taura hoversandattacks mostly from a distance. While there are no environmental hazards, you’ll need tobe careful not to fall off the platform, as it will result ininstant death.

Theboss’s weak spot is the black circular centerof its body, which it often tries toshield by changing forms. When the center is exposed, ensure toland your shots there, as itdeals massive damage.

For weapon selection,prioritize a Long Gunas your primary weapon since the boss stays airborne and at a distance.Close-range weaponslike shotgunsare ineffectivein this fight.

Since the boss unleashes rapid, consecutive attacks, you’ll have little time to heal.
