The first boss in Sonic’s part ofSonic X Shadow Generationsis Death Egg Robot. Just as it was in the original Sonic Generations, Death Egg Robot sees you play as classic Sonic, fighting on a 2D level. You can’t beat the basics, right?
What starts out as a pretty simple and rote battle as far as Sonic’s standards go becomes something a bit more impressive and complex. Well done Eggman! In this guide, we’ll go over how to access the boss fight, and how to take it down once you’ve unlocked it.
How To Unlock Death Egg Robot
Sonic Generations has nine stages in total, split into three eras.Death Egg Robot is the boss of the first era.
The boss gate for Death Egg Robot is unlocked after beating Act 1 and Act 2 in the first three stages, butyou will need three boss keys to unlock it.
You unlock boss keys by beating challenge acts, which become available to play once the boss gate appears. While there are many to pick from,you only need to beat one on each stage, and then you’ll have three boss keys.
Take the three boss keys back to the boss gate, and then you can fight Death Egg Robot.
Death Egg Robot’s Attacks
Death Egg Robot has a plethora of attacks to look out foracross both of its phases. Here are the most important ones to keep an eye on.
Description
Homing Punch
An attack in both phases. The robot targets you to attempt to hone in on you before extending its fist to punch you. Keep jumping and moving around so it misses the punch. It works the same way in the second phase, but this time, you want to bait it into punching one of the bombs.
Leap Attack
This attack comes after the punch. Here, Death Egg Robot leaps into the air and tries to jump on you. This is dodged by spin dashing out of the way.
Bombs
These are more of a stage hazard, but needless to say, you do not want the bombs dotted around to go off on you instead of the enemy. Just make sure not to jump on them after you’ve armed them.
How To Beat Death Egg Robot
This fight is in two stages. In the first, Death Egg Robot will charge up a leaping attack. When it starts to do this, start charging your spin dash, and then release as soon as it leaps into the air. Then, you’ll be able to jump into its weak point and deal damage.Do this twice, and the next phase starts.
This is where it gets a little more complicated. You have to land two more hits, but Death Egg Robot is now out of reach. It will also launch its fists at you. So, you have topress one of the buttons dotted around the map, which will bring out a bomb. Bait Death Egg Robot’s punch nearby,making sure the fist is caught in the bomb’s blast, and it will be stunned.
Once stunned,jump on top of the arm. You’ll then be able to run to the weak spot and jump on it, dealing damage. Do this twice, and the fight is over.
If the arm is too high up once it’s stunned, you won’t be able to jump on top of it and deal damage.
