With the release ofGenshin Impact5.0 and Natlan, travelers got to witness the rise of new Local Legends in Tevyat, and among the strongest of them all is known to be “He Never Dies.” He Never Dies-Dragon Defier is a Local Legend located east of the Ancestral Temple in Natlan. This is a unique boss fight that teleports players to another world and can’t be done in Co-op.
He Never Dies has a very high HP pool and does huge damage to players with his attacks. Defeating He Never Dies will reward players with up to three achievements for a total of 35 Primogems.
How To Beat He Never Dies
He Never Dies-Dragon Defier is a hidden boss that looks easy to defeat at first glance, but the boss certainly lives up to his name. He Never Dies has a ridiculously high health bar and can easily kill player characters in one or two hits.
The key to easily defeating He Never Dies is tonever let him usehisUltimate Technique: Giant Undying Collision.
It can be very hard to dodge this supercharged attack from He Never Dies, and you won’t be safe from it even if you have the strongest of shields.
The attacks done by He Never Dies are very simple, and this boss fight does not require any specific elements to be used or have any special mechanics.
He Never Dies Attacks And Moveset
He Never Dies mostly does a series of two normal attacks, which arehead attacks, dash attacksand hisUltimate Technique.
How To Avoid
Head Attack
He Never Dies hits his head toward the player with a small AOE.
This attack will happen after a short animation where He Never Dies swings his head to the left or right. Simply,dash backward or move awayto avoid it. This attack does moderate damage and is easy to avoid.
Dash Attack
He charges forward and rams into the player:
He Never Dies will hunch forward and dash straight at the player. To avoid this, simplyrun sidewaysas soon as He Never Dies starts inching forward.
This attack does high damage and cankill your character in one or two hits.
Ultimate Technique
He remains stationary and starts charging up a powerful move.
Disrupting this Ultimate Technique is the key to victory. Todisrupt this skill,useattacks that have high interruption(attacks that can push back small enemies).
High Plunge and charged attacks can effectively disrupt his Ultimate Technique.
Head attacks are not lethal but can significantly damage your character, and the attacks you should be looking out for aredash attacks.
Dash attacksdo more damage andcan kill your charactersif you fail to dodge, shield, or heal from them justone or two times. HisUltimate Technique, Giant Undying Collision should beavoided at all costs.
When He Never Dies is about to unleash his Ultimate Technique, he will go into astate of chargingand will not move. This is your window tointerrupt himfrom fully charging up his Ultimate Technique.
If you fail to interrupt this attack, be ready to befully dedicated to dodginguntil his Ultimate Technique ends.
The start of this phase will beindicated by a promptin-gameto use attacks that have high interruption, and during this technique, He Never Dies will have aglowing Violetaura.
Best Characters To Use
The best way to defeat He Never Dies is to use characters that can constantly inflicthigh interruption attacks, such as Claymore wielders.
Claymore characters are good at fighting He Never Dies, because they can easily and quickly stop him while he is charging up his Ultimate Technique by simply spamming normal attacks.

Navia is a limited Geo five-star character. Geo characters, when paired with Geo resonance bonus, can createcrystallized shieldsthat can soak up ample amounts of damage. Navia is also considered to beone of the best Geo damage dealers.
Itto
Itto is a limited five-star character that is also Geo. Itto makes even faster attacks while in his burst, and you can effortlessly interrupt the boss’s Ultimate Technique.
Eula
Eula is a Cyro limited five-star character that mainly does physical damage. Eula comes with built-in resistance to interruption, which means you won’t be pushed back or interrupted if you get hit by the boss. She also has one of thehighest burst damage in the game. Eula, paired with Mika and an extra healer or a sub-damage dealer, is a solid team to easily defeat He Never Dies.
Mika is a 4-star character who can grant you a normal attack speed bonus with his Elemental skill.
Plunge Attack DPS
If you don’t have any powerful Claymore characters built, then your next best bet is to use characters that can rely onplunge attacks. Using plunge attacks canheavily disruptHe Never Dies and prevent him from even doing his normal attacks.
Make sure to always do High Plunge Attacks.

Make sure your Jean is at ahigh character levelto efficiently pull in He Never Dies with her Elemental skill. Also, be prepared to dodge his Ultimate Technique: Giant Undying Collision.
Using theSacrificial Swordon Jean will let you use her Elemental skill much more frequently and make this boss fight even easier.
Fly With Venti Or Wanderer
The only thing stopping most players from defeating He Never Dies is his Ultimate Technique: Giant Undying Collision, and you can easilydodge this by staying mid-air.
