Chapter Three ofBlack Myth: Wukongunfolds in the snowy expanse of The New West, where the Destined One will face a variety of bosses. Some are grand and imposing, while others are more tedious and vexing. Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang falls squarely into the latter category, with an overstretched name and equally frustrating attack moves to match.

This optional encounter is reminiscent of the frog-like bosses you’ve faced in earlier chapters, both in design and attack moves. However, Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang introduces a range of frost-inducing area-clearing attacks that can effortlessly put you into a chilled state if you’re not careful.

How To Beat Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang

From your previous encounters with the frog Chief Yaoguais, you’ll knowLang-Li-Guhh-Lang isn’t the most demanding bossaround. While not particularly challenging, your main concern will be avoiding the irritating Frost Bane, which this boss inflicts with ease using some of its attacks.

The Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang Boss Preparations

To tackle Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang, you’ll obviously need yourbest-performing staff, like theKang-Jin Staff. But that’s just the start. By now, you’ve probably come across some useful items to handle Frost.

We’re talking about theFiery Gourdand theRing of Firespell; both toolsgrant Frost immunityfor a while. As far as acquiring these goes, Ring of Fire can’t be missed, as you’ll obtain it after yoursecond run-in with the Macaque Chief, while theFiery Gourd is inside a chestafter jumping down the rickety bridge in the Mindfulness Cliff.

TheFrostsprout TwigandMani Beadare also worth considering, as these Curios pair well together. The Twig ups your chill resistance, while the Mani Bead boosts your chances of scoring critical hits, making quick work of the frog. And if you’ve beaten theYin Tiger, you’re able to certainlyequip another Curio- theBack ScratcherorCat Eye Beads- for that extra edge.

The Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang Boss Easy Stategy

At the start of the boss fight, make up for your lack of theImmobilizespell bygoing all out with your duplicatesfrom theA Pluck of Manyspell. Let Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang take the initiative, and when itcomes at you with its frost vapor move, which will cover most of the ground with a Frost, cast the Ring of Fire spellto counter it.

The duration of the fight before it uses the icy wail move is what we’ll call phase one. Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang uses itsstandard tongue attacks, slaps, and tummy tacklesduring this phase. Halfway through, itundergoes the phase transition, hinted by its first icy wailmove.

In phase two, itgets more aggressiveas itfrequently uses attacks involving icy spikes. However, there’s a bit of a pattern to it, but it’s not too strict.

If the boss performs thethree-hit combothat ends with a ring of icy spikes,be ready for a tongue grabif you’re inside the ring. If not, it’ll likely follow up with thepiercing wail move, so you’llneed to distance yourself quickly.

Sometimes, the Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang boss will mix things up by following theicy trail move into the three-hit combothat ends in another ring of icy spikes. However, instead of going into the usual special moves, it’lllaunch into another icy trailthat ends with the piercing cry attack.

Theicy spikes and piercing cry attacks are among the most annoying, so watch out for them.

Fortunately, Lang-Li-Guhh-Langtakes a bit of time to recover between combos, giving you plenty of opportunities topunish it with consistent damage. While the boss can easily be defeated without relying on Transformations, you’re able to certainly useRed TidesorEbon Flowif you prefer to take down the annoying frog as quickly as possible.
