The Dark Horizon DLC ofRemnant 2takes you to alien farmlands with giant spiders roaming the place with no inhabitants of the planet in sight. As you explore this vast area, you’ll eventually encounter a more formidable version of these robot spiders called the N’Erudian Reaper.
This boss fight is significantly harder than dealing with the regular giant robots. The N’Erudian Reaper moves quickly, teleports in and out of your range, and traps you by using its electrical webs. It’s a challenging battle, which is why our guide provides a complete strategy to help you defeat the N’Erudian Reaper.
N’Erudian Reaper Boss Location
You encounterbosses in the game inside dungeons, which aremostly randomly generated. Whenever you enter a dungeon,pause the game and go to the ‘Map’ menuto see the name of the location you’re currently exploring.
There is a great chance that you willencounter the N’Erudian Reaperwhile exploring theDetritus Foundryarea found on the alien farmland region of N’Erud,accessible via the Dark Horizon DLC. The N’Erudian Reaper islocated in a large hexagonal roomwith only one entrance and exit. You’ll typically find this room on the top floor of the Detritus Foundry, with aWorld Stone Shard checkpointjust before the boss door.
Description
Ground pound Attack
The boss pauses briefly before suddenly performing a ground pound using the drill on its face, targeting the spot where you’re standing.
Drill Rush
Once the boss’s health drops below 50%, it will begin rushing at you with the drill piercing the ground.
AoE Orbs
When the N’Erudian Reaper screams, it will follow up with an attack that releases AoE Orbs from its face, spreading outward in a circular pattern.
Holographic Drill Attack
Similar to its single ground pound attack, where it uses the face drill, the boss can chain this move by performing a second ground pound after a holographic shift, following the first strike.
Mist Blast
The boss does a sweeping mist attack which blasts after it is spread.
Drill Mist
In another attack, the boss mimics the Mist Blast but increases the AoE using the drill, extending the mist and blast radius around itself.
Electric Webs
At times, the boss leaps to the edge of the arena and fills the area with electric webs. If you get caught, you’ll be stuck, and the boss will finish with a ground-pound attack.
N’Erudian Reaper Boss Fight Strategy
N’Erudian Reaper boss fight happens in abig hexagonal arenawithno walls and obstaclesto find cover. Theboss moves swiftlyandattacks rapidly, leaving little time to stay in one spot and unload your entire magazine without getting hit. Therefore, thebest strategy to defeat the bossis tokeep movingconstantly andstay out of the N’Erudian Reaper’s melee range.
Since you’ll be running a lot in the arena, it’s essential toconsume ‘Mudtooth’s Stew’toboost your maximum stamina. This will help you better manage your stamina bar throughout the fight.
Thereal challenge in the N’Erudian Reaperboss fight comes from itslightning-fast attacks, which can catch you off guard and instantlykill you if your health is low. To counter this,stock up on as many ‘Blood Roots’as possible and use them regularly toregenerate health passively, no matter if you’re at low or mid-health.
Once theboss’s health drops below 50 percent,the specter inside thegiant spider robot will screamto begin thesecond phaseof the boss’ fight and unleash even deadlier attacks. TheAoE orbs and holographic drill attacksdeal massive damage, so it’s crucial to keep your health full to survive these devastating blows.
To deal maximum damage per bullet, we recommend youuse long-range high-damage weaponsandaim for the N’Erudian Reaper’s headto hit its weak spot. Since the boss moves and teleports frequently, using medium or low-damage weapons won’t be as effective. Whilehigh-damage weaponsmay have aslower rate of fire, using them will be more efficient in defeating the boss.
If youhaveInvokerandRitualist archetypesunlocked, then the’Way of Kaeula’from the former class and’Miasma’ skillfrom the latter will help youdeplete N’Erudian Reaper’shealth very quickly.
The’Way of Kaeula' skillsends awave that applies the Drenched effectin a bigger AoE,reducing enemy movement by 10 percentand applying massiveShock damage to enemiesinside it. On the other hand, casting the’Miasma' skillappliesBleeding, Burning, Overloaded, and Corrodedstatus effects at once on the boss, which lasts for20 seconds.
Rinse and repeat the processwe have mentioned above while keeping aclose eye on your health, and you should be able todefeat the boss in just a few minutes.
