How To Find The Old Ginseng Guai

The Old Ginseng Guai can be found in Chapter Three, justright of the Towers of Karma Keeper’s Shrinein theValley of Ecstasy zone. To get there, follow one of thedownhill paths on the leftleading from theForest of Felicity Keeper’s Shrine.

After arriving at theTowers of Karma, head right until you reach aclearing filled with Aged Ginseng.Interacting with the one in the centerwill initiate the Old Ginseng Guai boss fight.

Old Ginseng Guai Attack Patterns

The Old Ginseng Guai haslimited, sluggish combos, which can bedodged by roll spammingto keep your distance. If you stray too far, though, the boss willburrow undergroundand resurface near you.

While most of its attacks areclose-range punches and body slams, watch out for two in particular. One of its attackscovers the arena in ginseng rootsthat inflict Poison, explodes after a short delay, andsummons small Ginsengling minionsto fight alongside the boss. The second is a long-range root attackthat can ensnare you in place, leaving you vulnerable.

Double Slam

This move starts with the Old Ginseng Guaislamming the ground, quickly recovering todeliver an arm swing, followed by amore powerful slamthat sprouts poisonous roots.

Two Hits Into Slam

After astraight punchand aforward kick, the Old Ginseng Guai body slams the Destined One with his shoulder.

Root Burst

The Old Ginseng Guaitwirls aroundandinserts his left arm into the ground, which causespoisonous roots to spread across the arena. After a slight delay,the roots will detonateandsummon a trio of small Ginsenglingsto the boss’s aid.

Ensnaring Root

With slow, easy-to-dodge attacks, the Old Ginseng Guai is one of theleast demanding bosses you’ll face so far, and youwon’t need much pre-fight preparation. However, we do recommend thesetwo toolsto counter one of its more annoying moves.

Aweakness that’s common among similar enemies is the Burn Bane. By using theRed Tidestransformation, you can dish out tons of damage while applying the Burn status, which willslowly chip away at the Old Gingseng Guai’s healthover time, giving you an even greater advantage in the boss battle.
