The Princess knows that fashion is everything. Even when she is busy saving her kingdom from an ancient evil inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, she still finds time to dress up nice. Having the right drip has become an increasingly crucial part of video games these days, andNintendo’s latest epic is no exception.

Unfortunately, Zelda will be stuck with a rather generic disguise in the early hours while she is forced to remain undercover as royal imposters in Hyrule seek to have her imprisoned. You can’t equip new outfits or even discover new ones until a certain point, and here’s how.

When Can You Change Outfits?

Zelda’s fashion sense is held back by the narrative in Echoes of Wisdom. For several hours, you will be locked into wearing Link’s cape and a cute yet inconspicuous number as wanted posters of our heroine litter the landscape.

Despite taking her disguise off in a way that serves the plot, you can still choose to wear Link’s hooded cape if that tickles your fancy.

After completing the Zora, Gerudo, and Castle Town dungeons, you willface Ganon in a hard battle, but after emerging victorious, you will emerge into a reformed world where Zelda is not a wanted criminal but a celebrated hero.

Your father will then gift you the Royal Travel Attire, an outfit which feels like Zelda’s iconic dress but with an adventurous twist. You can’t exactly move around and complete dungeons in heels, so this is the next best thing.

How To Get New Outfits

Echoes of Wisdom won’t allow you to earn new outfits for Zelda to wear until she’s allowed to change out of her initial disguise. A wise choice, as it means you won’t be finishing quests and earning rewards you can’t even use.

Once you have left Castle Town behind and new rifts have appeared in Lanaryu, Eldin, and the Faron Wetlands, you will also be free to tackle a variety of new side missions that reward Zelda with fabulous new costumes.

Amiibo will have a chance of rewarding you with outfits after this point, instead of a constant stream of smoothie ingredients.

The cat outfit, for example - which allows you to speak to any feline in the open world - can be found in Kakariko Village, while Zelda’s original dress can be earnedby completing an adorable quest set by a young girl called Romi near the royal castle.
