While playingStardew Valley, you’ll have the chance to come across theFairy Box. This is a unique item that can only be obtained after you max out every skill; from here, you can enter the Mastery Cave in the Cindersap Forest and eventually unlock Combat Mastery, which needs to be claimed before the trinket appears.

With this done, the Fairy Box will have a slim chance to spawn in Skull Cavern chests, as well as when you slay monsters. Overall, there are eight fairy styles possible, but your exact design is based on your save file. As such, you’ll need to head into the game’s files and make some changes if you want a new fairy style.

How To Change The Fairy Style

As mentioned above, you’ll need totweak some files to change the fairy style.As such, this is intended for those playing on PC. Essentially, this involveschanging your ID to account for the fairy design that you want.

Before doing this, it’s important to note that changing game files always comes with a risk.Proceed at your own risk!

If you are comfortable changing the game’s files, thenhead to the desktop of your computer and press Windows and ‘R’.This will open up a box that should already have'%appdata%‘typed into it. If not, thentype it in and hit ‘OK’.

From here,find the Stardew Valley folder, enter it, and then head to the Saves folder.Here, you will see folders for your save files. For example, our farm is called Windy Hill, so you can see an appropriately named folder.

Double-click on the save filethat you want to change the fairy for. At this point, you should be seeing several files that can be opened in Notepad. Click on the file that isyour farm name and ID (without ‘old’ attached to the end).

Open this in Notepad, and you’ll probably see a giant wall of text. Don’t worry though, this is where you should be. Instead of scrolling to find what you want, justpress Ctrl and ‘F’ to open a Find box.In this box, you will thentype ‘multiplayer’.

Press ‘Find Next’, and you should see '’ highlighted. The full string of text that applies to this should look like this:

Of course, the ‘NUMBER HERE’ will bereplaced by your own ID.By changing the number, you can get a different fairy style. Once you’ve changed the number,save the Notepad file and close it.If you followed these steps, then your game should now be set up to feature a different fairy design.
