For many, the companions and relationships aspect of BioWare games is more important than the combat or the central story. InDragon Age: The Veilguard, you have seven companions to choose from when picking your party. You also have the option to romance any of them, with your approval status and relationship level being a big part of how you progress with each character.
Relationship level not only affects whether you can romance a companion, but also affects the gear your companions have access to and how effective they are in combat. Therefore, you’ll want to increase it as much and as quickly as possible.
How To Check Relationship Level And Status
If you head to themap screenand scroll across to theCompanions tab, you’ll be able topick any companion you want to checkyour relationship level with.
If you look to the left of a companion’s screen, you’ll see a number in a circle.This is your relationship leveland thesurrounding circle shows your progress towards the next level.
To fill it in more and increase your level, you’ll need to complete side quests for the character, do what they like in team conversations, and have them as part of your party during quests.
What Is The Max Relationship Level?
Ten is the maximum relationship level you can reachwith any character.
It’ll take a lot of effort to reach level ten, so if there’s a character you really want to max out, you’d bestkeep them in your party as often as possible.
While the 1-10 progression remains the same for all characters, the name assigned to each level is different for each character. Usually, they are linked to the background of the companion in question.
Hero Of The Veilguard, Explained
An additional level of relationship quality also comes before you reach level nten0. Described as “the Highest Level of focus and commitment possible for Veilguard members,“Hero of The Veilguard status can also be seen on the companion screen.
It is important at the end of the game and affectsthe key choices you make, unlocks legendary gear for the character, and gives you access to new skills.
To reach Hero of The Veilguard status,you need to complete the personal arc of side quests for the character. Once you’ve achieved it, you’ll also see a small icon next to the companion when you select your party before a quest.
