Abyssal Chaos is a special low-resource battle stage inLove and Deepspace. Unlike other battle stages, Abyssal Chaos does not require Stamina to enter, and cannot be swept. In Abyssal Chaos, you and your companion uncover clues and make deductions to solve Chaos Cases and investigations.

As you complete these Cases, you will uncover secrets, enjoy surprise encounters with your companion, pass challenging puzzle stages, and earn items and codes to be spent on companion upgrades. You can play Abyssal Chaos Deductions with multiple versions of the companions, upgrading their skills each time.

What Is Abyssal Chaos?

Abyssal Chaos is a special,investigation-based battle modethat incorporatesstory elements and combatstages to create a fun and multi-faceted side mission.

In Abyssal Chaos, you willchoose a companionto take with you as youinvestigate cluesin different Deductions assigned to you either by contractors or the Deespapce Hunter’s Association.

Abyssal Chaosresets every two weeksand features anew trial companioneach cycle. Currently, there are two Abyssal Chaos Cases to play through:Find Tobias and Final Farewell.

There are alsotwo modes of Abyssal Chaosto complete: Easy Mode and Hard Mode. Completing Deductions in Hard Mode will give youmore rewardsthan in Easy Mode.

All Abyssal Chaos Companions

Abyssal Chaos Companions arecombat companionsyou can bring with you on Deductions.

These Companions havedifferent skill setsand can be upgraded using Companion Genes. Companions can only be taken on Deductions if you haveunlocked their regular combat counterparts. You cannot use Companions you havenot unlockedunless they are theTrial Companion.

Trial Companions are separated between Deductions. You will havedifferent Trial Companionsin Final Farewell and Find Tobias.

Find Tobias

The first Abyssal Chaos Deduction isFind Tobias. In Find Tobias, you have beencontracted by a wealthy businessmanto find his son, Tobias. Tobias is suffering fromProtocore Syndrome, the same affliction the MC suffers from.

Because of Tobias’knowledge and skill set, he is a highly valuable person and his intellect has earned him the ire ofone of the N109 Zone’s many gangs. You mustinfiltrate the N109 Zoneto find and retrieve Tobias before someone else does, and before his Protocore Syndrome turns him into aWanderer.

Because this Deduction was addedbeforethe release of version 3.0, youcannot use Calebas a companion in this Deduction.

Final Farewell

InFinal Farewell, you and your companions must investigate signals originating from anabandoned buildingin the suburbs. Rumors and reports from the surrounding area suggest that thebuilding may bemore than meets the eye.

Unfortunately, your first challenge is getting past thesteadfast guardat the building’s front entrance. Even more frustrating, theguard refuses to talkabout who or what could be residing in the building.

This is the first Deductionyou can use Calebas a companion in.

How To Complete Abyssal Chaos Deductions

Abyssal Chaos Deductions are one of theeasier combat typesto complete. In Abyssal Chaos, there isno entrance feefor stages, and you’re able to replay, restart, and cancel Deductions at any timewithout resource penalties.

When you start an Abyssal Chaos Deduction, you can choose between the limited-timeTrial Companionor any of yourregular companions. Trial Companions will earnmore Companion Factorsthan regular companions.

After choosing a companion to bring with you, your team isautomatically created for youfrom thehighest raritymemories you own. These memories will bemaxed outfor the Deduction.

You can only use companions that you’veunlocked outside of Abyssal Chaos.That means that if you have not unlocked Xavier: Lumiere, you cannot use him in Abyssal Chaosunless he is the Trial Companion.

Youdo notneed to level, rank, or ascend your memories or improve your combat team to succeed in Abyssal Chaos. Your team isfully upgradedand chosen automatically upon entering the Deduction.

If you would like to,you can customizewhat memories you bring into the Deduction, but since your highest-strength memories are automatically equipped, thereisn’t any reason to do sounless you are aiming for aspecific combat buff.

When you have finally entered Abyssal Chaos, you can begin completingstory stages, combat challenges, Incidents, and puzzlestages. These stages are known as Cases.

Every few Case branches, you’ll start a story stage that includesspecial choicesyou can make andgives you informationon the overarching story of the Deduction.

The storylinewill changedepending on which companion you choose to bring with you.Companions all have special choices, items, and story branches to explore.

MostDeduction stages will becombat stages. Combat stages work the same as any other combat stage in the main game, but here, yourteam is already preparedat the beginning of the Deduction and cannot be altered between Cases.

When you pass a combat stage, youearn Chaos Keys.

Other than stories and combat stages, there are alsoIncident stages and Challenge stages. Incidents arerandom encountersin which you’re able to make special choices orearn special Items, upgrades, or Chaos Keysto improve your team.SomeIncidents reward you with useful items, while others offer onlypenalties.

Challenge stages are similar to combat stages in the sense that they arethree-dimensional, but they do not center around battle. In the Challenge stages, yourcompanion is usually locked up,and you mustchallenge special puzzlesto release them. Challenges can includememorizationpuzzles andobstacle courses.

What Are Chaos Keys Used For?

Chaos Keys are used topurchase Codes. Codes are specialcombat skill upgradesthat improve your or your companion’s combat abilities and add special buffs to battle. There areeight types of Codes: Active, Charged, Combo, Negative, Shield, Summon, Dodge, and HP. Each Code category upgrades adifferent combat ability.

After passing certain stages, or upon encountering a Code Purchase stage, you canuse your Chaos Keys to purchase new Codesorupgradeexisting ones.

Codescannot be upgraded infinitelyand will eventually reach a Code-level cap.

As you unlock and earn Codes, you willgain collection pointsto be redeemed in the Codes tab of the Records menu. Hitting certain Code milestones will reward youwith Diamonds.

If you’re aiming for aspecific combat techniqueor are using companions whocannot utilize certain code types, you can choose to prohibittwo code typesat the beginning of the Deduction.

There are alsothree categoriesof Codes. The first category is theGeneral Category.General Codes are Codes that can be applied toany combat companion.

The second category,Exclusive Codes,are Codes that are exclusive tocertain companions. These Codescannotbe applied to any companion by the one they are assigned to. Each Companion hasfive exclusive Codes.

Finally, the third category isCode Sets. Code Sets are sets ofthree codesthat, when acquired, give apermanent buffto your team. Completing sets will also give youDiamonds. The tutorial set will give you anEmpyrean Wishas well.

What Do Items Do?

Items functionsimilarly to Codesin the sense that each item provides aspecial combat buffor adds a combat or Case-specific ability. Each Item has a different ability associated with it and some items canonly be used a certain number of times, while others arepermanent buffs.

You will earn areward in the Records screenfor the first time you obtain an Item.

You can also collect special Items that areunique to your chosen companion. These items, once collected, can unlock special story branches in the Deduction. These stories are usually littleside queststhat end the Deduction early, but teach you new things about your companion,almost like a Date.

Sometimes, you need tocollect specific Itemsduring reward offers. You won’t know what these items are until you reach the later stages of the Deduction. These items are used tounlock special story branchesneeded to complete the Abyssal Chaos Case branches for the companion you chose.

For instance, in some Abyssal Chaos Deductions, you need tograb the Projectorto give to the Director. Giving the Projector to the Director willunlock a special choiceand give you special rewards.

What Are Incidents?

Incidents arerandom encountersthat will appear at certain points during the Deduction. There isno way to predictwhat Incident you will encounter. Incidents can either offer youa special reward or hinderyour progress by removing or downgrading your Codes.

Just like with Items and Codes, Incidents also have aspecial Collections menuunder the Records menu. After encountering a certain number of Incidents, you canclaim a Diamond reward.

You canrevisit and replay Incidentsand Abyssal Chaos story stages from theRecords tabafter you’ve completed them in a Deduction. This is a great way to recap for subsequent playthroughs.

Upgrading Genes

Along withGold, Chaos Keys, and Deduction Points, you’llearn Genesas you complete Deduction stages. Genes are special currencies that can be used toupgrade companion abilitiesand stats.

There aretwo difficultylevels in Abyssal Chaos:Easy and Hard. You mustcomplete the deduction in Easy modebefore you can progress to Hard mode.Hard mode offers more rewardsat the end of the Deduction, but the battles are significantlymore difficultto complete.

What Are General Genes?

General Genes can be used in theGeneral Gene tabto upgrade genes forall companions. These upgrades willroll overfrom Deduction to Deduction no matter what companion you choose.

Youneed General Factorsto unlock General Genes. You can earn General Factors during every Deduction. General Factors, unlike Companion Factors, aren’t tied to any one companion.

Unlocking General Genes can be done in a bracket system. You canchoose which Genes to upgradein a branch, but eventually, you will hit bottlenecks in the bracket.

There are22 General Genesto unlock in total.

Both Companion and General Genes arespecific to their Deduction.That means that your upgraded geneswill not roll overfrom one Abyssal Chaos Deduction to another.

What Are Companion Genes?

Companion genes are genes that can be upgradedonly for certain companions. These genes arenot universally sharedand can only be used during the specified companion’s Deduction runs.

Each companion hasfive Companion Gene Nodesto unlock.

You can unlock Compainon Genes withCompanion Factors.

Remember,Trial companions will earn more Companion Factorsthan regular companions during their specified Abyssal Chaos cycle.

you’re able to only earn Companion Factors for thecompanion you are completing deductions with. Youcan’t earn another character’s Companion Factorsif you are running the Deduction with a different character.

Abyssal Chaos Rewards

On top of the various currencies you earn for completing Deductions (Gold, Companion Factors, General Factors, and Deduction Points) you will alsoearn Diamonds and Outfits.

you may earnup to 2,000 Deduction Pointsper Abyssal Chaos cycle. Deduction Points can be used tocomplete Deduction level milestones. Each milestone has a corresponding reward. There are120 Deduction Reward levelsper Deduction.

Deduction Point rewards include Ascension Crystal Boxes, Bottles of Wishes, Diamonds, Magnets, Energy Capsules, Accessories, Outfits, and Core Energy.
