At the start of your journey inReka, Baba Jaga will ask you to help revive her house and then set out to complete a trial. This is the first trial of the game, associated with the Forest Spirit known as Leshy. So, how do you complete this trial?

In this guide, we are going to look at a step-by-step process on how to complete the Trial of the Forest Spirit by successfully doing all three of Leshy’s favors. At the end, this will allow you to freely gather wood, which can then be used to expand your house.

What Are Leshy’s Favors?

When you first arrive at the second area (the first map visited after getting your house), Baba Jaga will tell you aboutgetting approval from the Forest Spirit named Leshy. This is required to expand your house, asyou won’t be able to gather wood before this.

To begin, you will need to head into the nearby village. While the maps are procedurally generated and different from player to player, the village on a map will always be marked. After making your way to the village, your goal is to speak with the villagers and uncover three ‘situations’ that should be checked out.

Two of these situations arehelping deer and finding a trap, while the third one isregarding a giant tree that is surrounded by a big mist. This is your final stop; for now, let’s take a look at how to complete the favors.

How To Complete Three Favors

Feeding The Deer

These can be done in any order, but for the sake of this guide, we are starting with feeding deer. Head to the deer icon on your map. The deer won’t flee; you may approach them and feed them berries. If you don’t have berries on hand, these can begathered from berry bushes that grow around the map.

After feeding a few deer, Leshy will appear and talk to you,and the first favor will be complete.

Helping The Lutki

The next favor involves helping the Lutki, which is marked on your map already (thanks to Baba Jaga). The smaller Lutki here can be fed berries as well, butyou’re looking for the large Lutk in the center of the area.

By speaking with this elder, you’ll learn about a lookout postthat’s worrying the Lutki. To help them, you’ll need to aim towards it and interact, which will cause the structure to fall after a few hits. The tower itselfshould be relatively close to the Lutki.Immediately after destroying the hut, you will gain the second favor.

Breaking The Trap

The last task is tobreak a trap. You should have learned the location of this from a villager, so you can simply walk to the location on your map. At the trap, you will need toaim and interact with it, causing it to break. That’s all there is to this favor!

Visit The Big Larch Tree

After completing all three favors, you will need to visit the big larch tree. If you don’t know its location yet, be sure to stop by the village and ask around. A villager will mention atree surrounded by mist that caused some workers to go missing.

If you visited this area earlier, then you would have gotten ‘lost’ in the mist, and popped out the other side without making it to the tree.

With the tree marked on your map, head there. The mist will be thick, but you won’t get lost as you travel through the center. Once here, you’ll be able to see and talk with Leshy, who laments on the trees that have been cut down. From here, he asks you to essentially fix what’s been done, but doesn’t leave much instructions.

Your task is togather pinecones from the tree above and add them to the center of the tree.In total, you can gather 20 pinecones from the tree, and then place them inside the center, blood-like sap of the tree. If you talk to Leshy after a bit without completing this, he will provide a hint too.

With the pinecones in hand, you will now need tothrow them at stumps surrounding the big larch tree. Each time you throw a pinecone, multiple trees will begin to grow around the stump. After throwing ten, Leshy will call you back.

At this point, you will be able to freely get wood, but Leshy still has one last task for you. Within the mist, there are three lumberjacks who are lost. Leshy will give you a choice;save the men from the mist, or leave them trapped.

Here at TheGamer,we’ve chosen to save the men. When you choose this, you will then need togo find them scattered in the area. There are onlythree, so this can be completed in a short time.

Meet The Lumberjacks In Town

If you decided to save the lumberjacks, thenthey will ask you to meet them in town, near the vendor. This is the merchant that can be found with a wagon. The town isn’t too big, so you should easily be able to find three men near a wagon.

When you approach, they will talk to you andgive you some gifts including a headpiece and a tapestry that can be placed in your house. It’s worth mentioning thatthis tapestry is absolutely massive, and requires a lot of wall space to display.

With that, you arecompletely done with the Trial of the Forest Spirit. You can stay in the area, or proceed forward into a new map.
