By the time you reach Blackhowl Plains inThrone And Liberty, you’ll probably have a pretty solid feel for the game. However, not every quest is just about fighting monsters and collecting loot. That becomes fully apparent when Plain-Running Hunter appears in your Codex.
By all appearances, this should be a fairly straightforward quest, but some of its objectives aren’t particularly well explained. If you’re one of the many players who have found themselves wandering the Plains in search of answers so that they can complete the quest and move on, we’ve got the solutions for you below.
How To Light Or Extinguish A Pathway Torch
Pathway Torches can be found alongmain roadsthroughout Throne And LIberty. Since there aren’t many such paths in Blackhowl Plains, torches are fairly rare here, andlighting a torch elsewhere doesn’t count for the quest.
The easiest way to complete this objective is tolook on the road near the abandoned house, just northwest of the Western Campsite. There’s a wrought-iron torch just outside the wall separating the yard from the road;interact with itto complete the first objective for Plains-Running Hunter.
How To Save A Hunter On Blackhowl Plains
This objective takes a little bit of wandering, but you cancomplete it while you’re working on other questsin the same area. As you explore Blackhow Plains, listen for an NPC Hunter to call for help. You might also see themunder attack by a pack of wolves. These encounters spawn at random.
Defeat the wolves and speak to the Hunter; he’ll thank you for your aid, then drop aHunter’s Reward, which contains some minor loot for your trouble.
You can save as many Hunters as you find on the Plains; it’s not limited to just this quest.
How To Set The Wolf Trap
There are a handful ofWolf Trapsthroughout the Plains; activating them will cause alarge pack of wolves to spawn and attack. They’re easily distinguished, as they look like alarge wooden pallet covered in meat.
The easiest traps to find arejust off the main road going northandalong the southern shores of the lake, both easily reached from the Western Campsite. To complete the objective, you need to activate the trap, fight off the wolf attack, then check the trap again.
Once you’ve completed all three objectives, you’ll be able to select your reward; tokens for enchanting Uncommon Weapons, Armor, or Accessories.
