Crafting armor, weapons, and accessories comes into play very early inThrone and Liberty. This is an essential part of the game that will help you immensely in the early levels and beyond. This guide will cover the crafting UI, trait odds, “Great Success” rates, and more.
Although at first glance it looks simple, many players miss a few details about how to make the most out of their crafted gear and the traits they acquire.
Where To Craft Gear
To start with crafting gear, head to one of the main towns. Early on in Throne and Liberty, theeasiest town to visit will beKastleton. There will be several NPCs here that offer types of crafting:

Sundries Crafting
Head to whichever crafter you are looking for to get started.Weapon Crafter,Armor Crafter, andAccessory Crafterare all generally set up the same way with differences only in the input materials.
Crafting Materials Needed For Gear
All weapon, armor, and accessory crafts will require one Lithograph.In higher tiers of crafting, sometimes the Lithograph is replaced by something more uniquesuch as a Dimensional Essence. Each item thenalso requires a few other materialsto be crafted.
Crossbows, Longbows, Staves, and Wand crafts will require:
Daggers, Greatswords, and Sword and Shield crafts will require:
The type of each material will depend on the rarity of the item you are crafting. If you are crafting a Rare (Blue) item, it will require the rare version of each of the materials.
Armor crafts use all the same materials, but rather than Mystwood, some versions of armor use either Rune Leather or Magithread.
How To Get More Lithographs
The main ingredient thatyou will likely find yourselflacking most often are Lithographs. One Lithograph is required for every craft of weapons, armor, and accessories. There are a few ways to farm more of these:
Themost reliable method to farm more Lithographs is to complete as many Resistance Contractsas you can, and spend contract coins on them.Visit aContract Managerin a town to see what contracts are availablefor your level range.
Rewards per contract vary, so be sure to check out which ones are worth your time and Contract Rights.
Quality Lithographs also tend to drop fairly frequently when eliminating enemies in the open world or in open dungeonssuch as Syleus’s Abyss. You will also receive them from other rewards as you play through quests and fill your codex and lithograph books.
How To Get More Magic Powder And Crafting Materials
The various crafting materials required are forms ofManasteelandMystwood, which aregatherable from nodes in the outdoor worldas well as in dungeons.
Magic Powder can be obtained via the Dissolve feature.Open your inventory and you will see a button at the bottom called ‘Dissolve’. Here you can put in old gear and grind it intoQuality Magic Powderto be used in future crafts.
Be careful not to dissolve equipment that can be used in the Lithograph Book. If the item’s icon shows a book in the corner, it’s likely better to put that item towards your Lithograph Book progress instead.
You can also acquire all of these crafting materials from othersources such as Resistance Contracts,Codexcompletion, and special events. Furthermore,you can craft higher rarity versions of these crafting materials by combining five of your lower rarity materialsat the corresponding crafter NPC.
Trait Odds And Great Success, Explained
Available Traits on Crafted Gear
When crafting any piece of gear in Throne and Liberty, you canclick the magnifying glass icon to the right of the item’s icon. This brings up theEquipment Traits Infoscreen. This page is very useful if you arelooking to craft gear that has a specific trait, such as Health Regen or Melee Endurance.
The info page will show you the traits that theselected item has a chance to roll, and their corresponding chances. In the picture above, this shows there is a 20 percent chance when crafting this item, that it will have Melee Evasion on it. The same goes for Melee Endurance, and the other four traits listed all have a 15 percent chance to be the trait when crafting this armor.
Great Success Chances
If youclick on the small percentage (%) sign to the right of the item’s icon, the Crafting Success Rate info will showup. Usually, you have an 80 percent chance at success and a 20 percent chance at a Great Success.
Sometimes you may have a chance of failure in higher quality gear.
If you roll a Great Success, the item has additional abilities not available to you from a normal success result.
Usually,if you roll a great success, as long as you don’t have a dire need for that trait, you will want to sell itto make that sweet, sweet Lucent currency.
