During your time playingWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, you’ll face numerous enemies and hordes as you progress through each mission. Thankfully, your Space Marine has a variety of tools at their disposal to neutralize these threats, including multiple available guns and different classes to choose from.
However, if you take on missions at higher difficulties, even with a full squad, you might find yourself struggling at times as the challenge can be quite intense. But don’t worry; you won’t die the first time your health reaches zero. Instead, you’ll incur a Mortal Wound, which comes with its own set of consequences.
Mortal Wound, Explained
After getting knocked down or incapacitated during an Operation, you might see a prompt indicating thatyou received a Mortal Wound, and you might wonder what that means.
A Mortal Wound means thatif you die while you have it, you won’t simply be waiting for a teammate to revive you. Instead, you’ll need to wait through a timer before you can respawn, and you’ll lose all your items, starting again with your initial loadout.
The number of times you need to be incapacitated before receiving a Mortal Wound depends on the difficulty level you’re playing.
On the first two difficulties,Minimal and Average, you’llreceive a Mortal Wound after being incapacitated twice. However, onSubstantial or Ruthless difficulty, you’llget a Mortal Wound the first time you’re knocked down.
If you look at the symbol in the top left corner of your screen, next to your health bar, you’ll seea skull iconindicating that you’ve received a Mortal Wound.
While there’s no way to prevent receiving a Mortal Wound, there are a few methods wereyou can cure it and get rid of it.
How To Remove Mortal Wound
We know ofthree effective methods to cure and remove the Mortal Wound effect, with the first being somewhat obvious.
Wait For The Respawn
After you die with a Mortal Wound, you will respawn without the effect, as it automatically removes the Mortal Wound.
However, this method isn’t very efficient as it risks endangering your teammates with one of their squad members missing.
Fully Heal Yourself
The second method involvesfully healing yourself to maximum HP, which will automatically remove the Mortal Wound effect and prompt you with a message stating “Mortal Wound Healed.”
While this is a highly efficient way, finding enough stims to fully heal yourself can be challenging, especially on higher difficulties.
Use A Guardian Relic
The final method is to use aGuardian Relic for revival. This will eliminate the need for a teammate to revive you, allowing you to instantly revive yourself in placewhile also curing the Mortal Wound effect immediately.
The downside is that Guardian Relicscan spawn in random locations within an Operation area,so you may be fortunate enough to find one on your path, but it’s not guaranteed.
