Now that you’re in the fourth section of the DLC forPersona 3 Reload, you’ve brushed off the cobwebs on how the game works - and just in time, because the Frivolous Maya boss fight in the Antenora door in the Abyss of Time can be a real pain if you’re not careful.
Without any weaknesses to exploit and a pesky penchant for summoning a fierce support Shadow to prolong the battle, the boss battle with Frivolous Maya can be tiresome. Exploit the support Shadow’s weakness and deal as much damage to Frivolous Maya as possible to win the fight.
Frivolous Maya Affinities And Attacks
The door guardian Shadow battle against Frivolous Maya happens onAntenora B10, with the standard teleporter floor back out into the Desert of Doors if you need to save the game, visit the Velvet Room, reorganize the team, heal, and more.

No matter who you bring, it’s wise tocome prepared with your Theurgy gauges charged, since it’s always helpful to have a leg up by having that hefty damage move powered up and ready to be used when the fight begins.

How To Beat Frivolous Maya
There are two notable frustrations in the boss fight against Frivolous Maya in Persona 3 Reload: Episoe Aigis: not only will you find thatFrivolous Maya has no weaknesses to exploitto trigger all-out attacks, but it alsocontinuously summons Jotun of Blood support Shadowsthroughout the entirety of the fight.
Since Frivolous Maya doesn’t have any weaknesses, you’ll need todeal strong damage to Frivolous Mayasome other way, since it has quite a pool of HP that can drag the fight on if you’re not smart in your attacks. It’s the main Shadow here, so the fight continues until it finally goes down.
The Jotun of Blood support Shadows are specifically why I suggested bring Ken, since theJotun of Blood is weak to Light magic. A smooth way to deal good damage in this fight is tohave Ken down a Jotun of Blood, then Shift to let someone else deal stronger damage to Frivolous Maya.
Frivolous Maya will continue to summon Jotuns of Blood, but you’re able to use this to your advantage! The next turn after you defeat one of the support Shadows, Frivolous Maya will always summon a new one, soforcing Frivolous Maya to waste a turn summoning a new support Shadowis one less turn on which your team is taking damage.
Rewards For Defeating Frivolous Maya In Episode Aigis
For defeating the Frivolous Maya boss in Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis, you’ll have access tothree Twilight Fragment chests, which requirefive Twilight Fragments in totalto open. Because of your hard work in the fight, you’ll receive:
Not only that, but defeating Frivolous Maya and Jotun of Blood nets you theEmpress Major Arcana card, whichincreases endurance, agility, and luck by two for each Persona in your stockwhen choosing it from Shuffle Time.
Then, once you go back to the dorm, Fuuka canenhance your Ambushability again, this timeincreasing your Theurgy gauge when attacking enemies from behind. This ability will kick in the next time you quest through the Desert of Doors.
