Ganon is back inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, but perhaps not in the form that most players will expect. He’s a blue-faced, red-eyed meanie who hits hard while closing the Hyrule Castle dungeon out in spectacular fashion.

While the majority of bosses in Echoes of Wisdom require a specific strategy, Ganon favours aggression first and foremost and can be conquered with quick thinking and light feet. Here’s how to get it done without breaking a sweat.

Ganon Fight Overview

You will find Ganon at the end of the Hyrule Castle dungeon, but you won’t encounter them in the boss room right away. Instead, imposters of the King and his two trusted advisors will be there to meet you. After a brief conversation, they will dissipate into the air as their place is taken by Ganon.

Go into this encounter with plenty of smoothies handy. It can be a battle of attrition at points, so it helps to have a means to quickly restore health and energy.

The big blue meanie wields a two-pronged spear that he will twirl in an unpredictable motionjust before vanishing across the boss arena and thrusting it towards Zelda.

Ganon will combine many of these attacks at random, meaning Zelda will need to constantly be on her toes and react to the situation with different moves, echoes, and continued use of Swordfighter Form.

How To Defeat Ganon

The fight will begin with Ganon twirling his spear around as evil purple energy emanates from it. This can’t harm you, but the oncoming thrust of Ganon’s spear just after he shifts across the arena can.

Avoid this attack by using Zelda’s spin ability, strafing around until you are facing towards Ganon’s left or right side.

Now you cansummon an offensive echo to deal a handful of quick hits before he decides to teleport again. If you have enough energy, it’s also a good idea to use swordfighter form and deal a few extra hits for good measure.

Echoes that can be spawned to attack within seconds are essential for Ganon - such as the Darknut or any melee or ranged Bokoblin.Use higher level variantsif you’ve got them.

Keep repeating this pattern until Ganon pauses the action briefly tolet out a sudden roar as he rings in his second phase, and with that, a few new attacks for you to contend with.

Ganon will now begin throwing his spear outward as it spins around for a few seconds to kill anything in its path. He will keep his arm extended for the duration of this attack, giving you an opportunity to run right up to Ganon and deal some serious damage.

Ganon loves to teleport away whenever you start dealing with any kind of serious damage, but don’t let this constant stop and start discourage you. Progress is still being made!

Next up is thefire attack, in which Ganon spins his weapon as a circle of crimson projectiles begins to spawn around him. This makes actually squeezing into his space for an attack quite difficult, so our advice is to wait until half of the fireballs have left him to strafe around and hit him a handful of times.

Tri levels up and gains a new summon ability in Echoes of Wisdom.

After letting out another cute little roar,Ganon will enter his third phase and begin firing his singular fireball attack. This will take away several hearts and knock Zelda back if hit,so use her spin technique to avoid them and keep going in for the kill.Ganon will only ever let off two fireballs or so before teleporting across the boss arena, so make sure you keep on moving.

Ganon will keep on recycling all of his available attacks until he drops dead, so stick to the strategies we outlined above, and you’ll be just fine.
