Hauntings: Feeling Scared aims to prey on your fears of straw-stuffed bird-scarers, with another spooky trope that will have you humming horror movie tunes.
While scarecrows don’t sound very terrifying when you consider their real function, this enemy is terrifying in every sense, as its unnaturally sudden movements are both jarring and disorienting. Keep your head on a swivel in this fight, or the Scarecrow might trap you in a nightmarish battle.
How To Defeat The Scarecrow In Hauntings: Feeling Scared
Begin your quest by fast-traveling to theHossberg Wetlands, where you’ll need to search the swamp for apossessor demon.
Follow your marker into a large open area of the swamp, where you’ll trigger the appearance of thelevel 40 haunting: The Scarecrow.
This enemy is weak toFirebut resistsCold.
The Scarecrowis imbued with cold and attacks quickly, so be aware of its position on the battlefield at all times to avoid itsexceptionally quick attacks.
The Scarecrow willsummon Shadesnear the beginning of the fight (weak toCold,resistsNecrotic), which you should defeat before turning your attention to The Scarecrow.
Burning The Scarecrowis an excellent tactic, as it will continue to inflict damage over time (DoT) and slowly whittle down this elusive enemy’s health.
However, it’s equally important to dodge the array of dangerous Cold attacks in the form of a long, continuous beam as well astracking frosty spheres and blizzard-like blasts.
Avoiding attacks is key here, as this enemy willdevour HPif it hits you, meaning itrecovers its own HP by depleting yours.
Close the distanceand perform powerful combination attacks, including detonations that can inflict massive amounts of damage on The Scarecrow.
When The Scarecrow tries to shield itself, continue your attackto negate its attempt and keep the creature vulnerable to follow-up hits.
If you stay close to your enemy and prevent it from landing too many counterattacks, this fight will end quickly.
