At long last, after hours of questing through the doors in the Abyss of Time inPersona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis, your team comes face to face with not only Aigis' tragic past, but also the Shadow of the protagonist of the base game - and you need to fight him.

The Protagonist Uses SEES' Personas Against You

As if the emotional gut punch ofseeing Aigis' pastin Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis atthe end of the Empyrean door in the Abyss of Time wasn’t painful enough, you’ll almost immediately need tofight the Shadow of the protagonistfrom the base game - the one Aigis can’t stop chasing, the one keeping the Abyss of Time alive.

He starts the fight using Athena, Aigis' original Persona before she awoke to the Wild Card ability at the start of the DLC, no matter which teammates you bring into battle orwhich Personas Aigis currently hasin her stock. From there, the protagonist switches Personas each quarter of his health.

Afterevery three turns, he’ll switch from the current oneto someone else’s Persona, but healways uses the Persona of who’s currently in your party. For example, ifYukari isn’t with you in the partywhen you battle the protagonist, he won’t summon Isis and make you fight her, but he’s fully prepared to summon the Persona of whichever teammate youdidbring.

This can potentiallyhelp you plan your partyfor the fight ahead, since plenty ofyour friends' Personas nullify or repel their damage typefor the most part. Not only will you need tochoose strong teammatesin the fight, but you’ll need toweigh your team’s affinities against themselves. Make sure you’re able to sharp-shoot maximum damage for each Shadow Persona he’ll use.

It’s hard to suggest teammates, given that everyone has teammates they prefer using and/or feel more comfortable battling against, but in general,Metis is a good choicefor this battle, sinceshe doesn’t have any weaknesses. Without accessories, every other teammate has an element to which they’re weak except for Metis, making her tougher to knock down and exploit for a one-more.

As always, charged Theurgy gauges helpat the beginning of the fight todeal as much damage as possible. While we can’t give a specific team that covers everyone’s comfort level in battle affinity-wise, we can at least tell you what you’re up against in fighting each teammate’s Persona. Not only doesthe protagonist have that Persona’s general affinities, but he can alsouse their attacksto fight back.

Each of the Personas on the whole seem to haveone affinity to which they’re weak and one affinity they nullifywhen the protagonist uses them.
