Dead Rising Deluxe Remasterhas all the fascinating and bizarre enemies you all know and love from its initial release, typically coming by way of an epic boss encounter against Frank and a Psychopath, leaving them dead and gone until the next playthrough. That is except for a few occasions, one of which being the Raincoat Cult.
The Raincoat Cult will roam the mall from the moment you run into them until near the end of your playthrough, making navigating the hoards of zombies that much more nightmarish. But fear not. You can deal with them pretty easily with the right tools at your disposal.
How To Find The Raincoat Cult
Unlike most Psychopath Scoops, theRaincoat Cult is never announced by Otis,so youmust stumble upon them yourselfduring your playthrough if you want to take them on. To do this, head toParadise Plazaon thesecond dayand make your way over to theentrance of Colby’s Movie Landat1pm.
TheseCultists will be here until 10am of the following day,so you have time to bump into them. Once you get near their ritual, acutscene will playwhere theleader of True Eye(Raincoat Cult)attempts to sacrifice Jennifer, who is trapped in a box. However, hespots Frank and sics his Cultists on himand flees the scene.
Like most Psychopaths in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, you may have to rescue some Survivors before the Raincoat Cult appears. If they aren’t there at the time specified above, try bringing a few Survivors back to the Safe Room; that should do the trick!
How To Defeat The Raincoat Cult
As mentioned above, theRaincoat Cult is an odd type of Psychopath,as theydon’t go away until you defeat their leader, which won’t be until near the end of the game. They will be seen inlarge groups spread across the entire malland will instantly target you the moment they spot you.
Weapons such as theKatana, Submachine Gun, and Chainsaw make quick work of them,so always try to have them on you after you trigger them into your playthrough. They also offer a tremendous amount of PP, offering500 PP per Cultist, making thema godsend for farming EXP.
Regarding their attacks, they all have access to a knifethat they will charge after you with, andsome will pull out a stick of Dynamite before charging at you and diving into you, taking a large chunk of your health away alongside themself. Thesemoves are telegraphed pretty well, but their large groups can make it hard to deal with.
However, theirmost potent attack outside the Dynamiteis theirSleep Powder, which willtemporarily stun Frank, forcing you tomash Square/X to regain his footing. If youdon’t do it in time, they will kidnapyou and take you into one of theirhideouts.
Don’t forget to save Jennifer after you defeat the first group of Cultists and bring her back to the Security Room for a decent chunk of PP. There will also be a few more Survivors nearby, so grab them too if you haven’t already!
How To Escape The Raincoat Cult’s Hideout
If theRaincoat Cult happens to knock you outwith theirSleep Powderanddrag you away, you willwake up inside of their hideout… in nothing but your underwear. Yup, you willlose your entire inventory, as well as the clothes on your back, making it all the more shameful.
Escaping The Raincoat Cult’s Hideout
After coming to and climbing out of the crate, there will be aCardboard Boxto the right.Pick it up and throw it against the wallto break it open, revealing aSaw Bladeinside. Grab the Saw Blade andround the corner to see a group of many Raincoat Cultistsstanding around.
Throw the Saw Blade at the group of Raincoat Cultiststo swiftly take out a handful of them in one go, thenrun past them and to the rightto find aSwordlying on a tarp with their logo on it. This willmake quick work of the rest of them,so go nuts on them, watching out for the occasional bomber.
Taking out the last Cultist in this room will give you access to the Passcodeof the hideout, allowing you toexit the room via the door next to the crateyou crawled out of. This will spit you out near thenortheast section of Leisure Park,so you won’t have that far to go to get back inside the mall. Don’t forget tosnap photos of the two PP Stickers inside their hideoutbefore leaving!
