The Spirits Of The Dalish quest inDragon Age: The Veilguardputs you on a scavenger hunt to seek out five Dalish mementos and piece together the clan’s fate. However, walking around and collecting is not simple, as you’ll encounter several enemy groups that spawn, including a powerful Construct.
Prepare to dispatch Shades and Sentinels while solving puzzles to uncover the Dalish Clan’s lost mementos on your search to learn their fate. Luckily, some of these mementos are straightforward to find by following the markers on the map, but there are a few tricks you’ll need to know to complete the last segment of this quest.
Feel free to collect these mementos in any order you wish. This guide offers a front-loaded approach to combat encounters, clearing the way for easy collection.
Where To Find The Five Dalish Mementos
Begin the quest in Ruins Reach, where you’ll have your choice of which ofthe five Dalish Mementosyou’d like to track down first.
Memento One – Follow The Trail Of Halla
For simplicity’s sake, follow your marker to the forest outcropping in Ruins Reach andencounter a group of enemiesyou’ll need to defeat.
Once the enemies are defeated,lookon the groundfor a trail of halla corpses to follow.
Halla aredeer-like creaturesthat resemble does. Their bodies will lead you to the memento.
Follow the trail toward asmall cliff with some rocksby the edge, and examine the area behind the rocks, facing the cliff.
Investigate thehalla statuetteon the ground to claim thefirst memento.
Memento Two – The Shadowy Grove
From the first memento, head down the path on your right, then look to the left to spotan enemy standing in front of a wolf statue.
Enter the Shadowy Grovearea anddefeatthe group of magic-hurlingShades,taking care to avoid their attacks.
Once the area is cleared out,face the same direction as the wolf statueyou saw at the start, and look forward and to the right, to an area of trees adjacent to where you entered.
Here, you’ll spot a broken Eluvian mirror along withthe second Dalish mementoyou need –a Ripped Page.
There’s an Evanuris Altar in the area you can use, which bestows blessings if you hit four targets.
Memento Three – The Ancient Aqueduct Shipwreck
Head north then east through a gate byusing the lever nextto it to gain access to theAncient Aqueduct area.
In this area, there arepaths to the left and right,including a threateninggroup of enemiesyou must defeaton the rightside.
Defeat theFade Constructin this area quickly usingElectricdamage.
Once the area is cleared out, you have another memento nearby to locate.
First, find theowl statuenear the gate where you entered, then turn around and face theseries of wrecked shipsin the water.
Jump to the furthest ship and investigate the burned bodies toclaim the third mementoand continue your quest.
Memento Four – Into The Cave
From the gate where you entered the Ancient Aqueduct,take the left path,and continue following the wall until you entera clearing.
Here, you will be attacked by a large group of Shades.
Dispatch them, and turn back to the wall you followed into this area, where you’ll noticea small entrance to a cave.
Enter this tiny cave and collect theNeatly Folded Note – the fourth memento –on the floor.
Memento Five – Back To The Grove
Head to thewesternmost area of the Shadowy Grove,where you’ll encounter a powerful Sentinel that you must defeat to progress.
Search the area around the white fog barrier, and you’ll encounter aledgewith thefifth memento – the Blood-Splattered Journal.
Your quest will be updated. Follow your map marker back to the boat on the shore where the Anxious Spirit awaits your return.
How To Perform The Rite
Once you speak with the spirit, you’ll need toperform a riteto soothe it.
Immediately after your conversation,defeat a group of enemiesthat spawn.
While the marker can be confusing, you should turn around from the boat andhead slightly up the hill and to the rightwhere you’ll notice agiant rockyou can interact with.
Use Rook’sEternal Hymnto move the Resonant Slab and enter the enclosed area.
Inside the closed area, you’ll finda broken device; use Bellara’s Tinkeron the device toopen a Fade Portaldirectly above where the Resonant Slab was.
Climb up the rocks andreturn the Resonant Slabto its original position, creating a ledge for you to enter the portal.
