Dragon Ball: Sparking Zerois surprising for a lot of reasons, but perhaps the biggest is that its story mode, known as Episode Battles, contains some incredibly challenging battles.
Anyone who has started playing Sparking Zero through its early launch has surelycome up against Great Ape Vegeta and had a tough timethere, but that’s just the beginning. The AI doesn’t hold its punches, but there’s a reliable method of beating them down easily.
How To Easily Defeat Episode Battle Bosses And Fights
I’ve played Sparking Zero for around 60 hours now and beaten all of its Episode Battles, Bonus Bonus Battles, Tournaments, and more. It’s not been an easy ride, but I did figure out a technique (just call me Goku) tomake things easier that seems to work pretty much every time when going up against the AI.
The first thing you’re going to want to do when struggling against a boss in Sparking Zero is tocharge up your Ki (R2 on PlayStation and RT on Xbox) to the maximum and go into Sparking Mode. This mode is how you pull off ultimate attacks, but don’t go using that just yet. Instead, you’re going to want to Dragon Dash into them (double tap R2 and X on PlayStation or RT and A on Xbox) and start attacking with basic hits.
Dragon Dashing usually positions you behind an opponent, but even if it doesn’t it’s so fast-paced that the AI doesn’t generally know how to react. Once you’ve done that, you’ll want to punch them as much as possible, which is made a lot faster in Sparking Mode and is nearly impossible to deflect or guard against.
If the opponent does deflect your attack, simply press block at the right time to teleport behind them and smack them away, opening them up for an ultimate attack.
Keep hitting the opponent as many times as you can, but before they get knocked away, you’re going to want to aim down and press the ki blast button (triangle on PlayStation and Y on Xbox). This will knock them into the ground, whichgives you the perfect opening to use your ultimate move and absolutely decimate their health bar.
It takes a bit of practice and is different between some characters, butthis method is one of the best for ensuring victory in Sparking Zero, especially against AI opponentswho don’t seem to react to it. This technique can also be repeated as many times as you need, so long as you have at least one bar of your Skill Count.
It’s not the most respectable way to beat Sparking Zero and you will be watching alotof the same Ultimate cutscenes, but when some of the fights are so tough, it’s a good thing to count on. This method is also the best way of defeating enemies quickly for secondary objectives, which you’ll need to do in order to see every Sparking Episode.
