Ammonia is one of several elements that can be found inNo Man’s Sky. You can use it to craft different items, refine other materials, and even recharge toxic protection technology. Ammonia is mostly found on toxic planets from rock deposits, but there are some other ways to acquire it as well. Even if you do not need to build anything, you can use it to create something like Herox, which can be sold to earn a lot of Units.

This guide goes over all possible methods of collecting Ammonia in No Man’s Sky, its uses, and the most efficient ways to farm it.

How To Farm Ammonia In No Man’s Sky

Ammonia is mostly found onplanets with a toxic environment. Similar to other elements, you will need toscan a planet while in space, and see if Ammonia comes up as one of the available resources on it. If it does, land on the surface anduse your Analysis Visortoscan nearby rocksto find Ammonia — it will appear as either a primary or secondary source.

From there, you simply need touse the Mining Beamto easily extract it.

Using the Analysis Visor to find an Ammonia Deposit on the surface of a planet. This can be mined using Mining Extractors.

You should also note that, unlike on Earth, Ammonia in No Man’s Sky is not classified as a gas, but as a mineral. This is why it is impossible to find it in Gas Hotspots. If you need to find Ammonia, use the Survey Device(an upgrade for the Analysis Visor) toscan some Deep-Level Mineral Deposits. Once you have found a hotspot, set up a Mineral Extractor on it.

Remember that eachMineral Extractor requires 50kPs to work. Make sure to set up the Mineral Extractors somewhere close to your base, so that you have an easier time transporting.

Using the Terrain Manipulator to mine Ammonia from an Ammonia Deposit on a toxic planet.

We recommendusing Electromagnetic Hotspotsbecause they very easily provide a consistent source of power needed to mine the required resources.

Mineral Extractors can onlyyield 250 units per cycle. To increase the output, you will need touse Supply Pipesandconnect them to the Supply Depotsthat canhold an additional 1,000 units.

Using a Large Refiner to create Dioxite with Ammonia and Ferrite Dust.

You can alsopurchase Ammoniafrom someGalactic Trade Terminals.

Not every Galactic Trade Terminal will have Ammoniafor sale. The ones that do, usually have it in very limited quantities.

Ammonia can also be acquired by refining different materials in a Refiner. Here are all the possible recipes:

How To Use Ammonia

Ammonia is primarily needed torecharge the Toxic Protection Module. It is an upgrade for the Exosuit’s Hazard Protection. Once installed, it allows you to easily explore toxic environments without worrying much about depleting your HP.

You can also use50x Ammoniaand1x Wiring Loomtorepair the Toxic Protection Module.

Other than this, Ammonia is also needed to craft a variety of items. These are:

2x Hermatic Seal + 2x Metal Plating + 100x Ammonia

25x Uranium + 25x Phosphorus + 25x Ammonia

50x Fungal Mould + 25x Ammonia

50x Ionised Cobalt + 50x Ammonia

25x Uranium + 25x Condensed Carbon + 25x Ammonia

Toxic Suppressor

75x Copper + 60x Silver + 150x Ammonia

Out of these, the Fungal Mould and Salt recipe is the quickest to farm, since these are the easiest resources to acquire.

You will need16x Ammoniato completelyrecharge your Toxic Suppressor.

Ammonia can also be refined into things, such asHerox, which is atradeable Alloy Metal required for more advanced itemslike Geodesite.

1x Dioxite

1x Herox

It is also possible tosell Geodesite for150,000 Unitseach if you have an abundance of Ammonia.
