What Are The Mists?

The Mists are a separate area from the rest of the world of Albion, and don’t exist in any specific part of the world. There arethree types of Mists:

Each type of Mist is there for a specifictype of player, and each one holds treasurefar more valuablethan the last.

Yellow Zone Mists

Yellow Zone Mists are, as the name implies, aYellow Zone— meaning, if your health reaches zero in a battle with a mob, you will simplyfall to your kneesand get up 15 seconds later.

If a player downs you in combat, however, you will beforced out of the Mistand reappear at the exact spot where you entered.

Yellow Zone Mists are inherently the safest option, and thus the loottends to be rather disappointingin comparison to the other Mists — but in comparison with other safe zone loot, it can still be impressive.

Black Zone Mists

Black Zone Mists are themain mists you should focus on,as the rewards here are far greater, and opportunities for sneaky kills are the highest — bringing to you all the loot your enemies have so kindly gatheredfor you to take.

Here, Black Zone rules apply, thus getting killed meansyou lose all of your belongings, bar your Silver and untradeable items such as Tomes.

Greater Mists

The Greater Mists only come inBlack Zoneflavor, and are the best in terms of raw silver — if you’re good at PVP.

Greater Mists allow fortwo players to party upwhen entering, and generally have the best loot and opportunities for attack. Keep in mind, in these Mists, everyone around you has their own duo too.

If you’re looking to do these primarily, either you or your friend shouldrun a healer build. These are very common throughout the Greater Mists, and not having a healer can be amajor disadvantagein fights.

How To Find The Mists

The Mists are accessed viaWill o' Wisps, which you’re able to find across the world of Albion, and here is where the different types of Mists come into play:

The tier of the area you’re indoes not indicate the tier of the Mistsyou’re about to visit, as Mists have a rarity system instead of a tier system.

The local map in the Mists in Albion Online, with a resource spot on the North, and camps on the South, West and Center regions of the map.

Blue Zones have no Wisps floating around, thus no entry into the Mists.

Once in the appropriate area, stray away from the paths andlisten for a whistling soundthe Wisps make.

An Uncommon Camp Mist Cache that has unlocked since the camp was cleared in Albion Online.

When you find a Wisp, and you’re not invisible or shielded, you may pass by it totrigger it, causing it tocreate a portalto escape into the Mists. You cantake this portalto get sent into a random Mistof the same rarityas the Wisp you found was.

The portal will close automatically after 30 seconds, or when you enter it.

Wisp Rarity

Will o' Wisps have ararity system, and this can be seen visually withthe trail they leave behind:

The rarity of the Wisp indicates thequality of lootyou can expect to find in that Mist, and thetier of the mobs and resourcesin it.

If you find yourself in a Common Mist, and you see a Wisp of a higher Rarity —ignore the Mist you’re in right now, and go for that Wisp. The rewards getexponentially betterwith each step in the rarity ladder.

What Can You Find In The Mists?

Once you’ve entered the Wisp portal, you’ll find yourself ina random spot in a random Mist.

The Mists haveevery type of resourcein the game available to you, and the tier of resources you can expect to find can be viewed from the local map.

The mythical Griffin found only in the Mists, fighting a player in Albion Online.

Each Mist has the following content:

Mists always havefour exitson each side of the map, and every player in the Mist is labeled as"Mysterious Stranger".

Each Mist only exists fortwenty minutes, and when it’s about to close, a timer appears at the top of your screen, where you havefive minutes to find another Wispin order to go to the next Mist. Failing to do so will just drop you back in the open world, where you found your initial Wisp.

Because of the way player names are masked, with each player named “Mysterious Stranger”, and each Wisp allowing only one or two players to pass through, depending on the Wisp you find, intentional teaming is basically impossible. Guilds and small groups arenot welcome here, and thus, the Mists are only accessible forsolo or duo players— making them the best content you can do if you fit into this category.

What Are Mist Camps?

Around the Mist you can find at least one, and up to four, camps filled with enemies. This is themain contentof the Mists.

When entering a camp, a circle appears on your local map notifying you how the camp is defined. Enemies killed within this circle drop very little Fame, but theycompletea questwhich requires you to kill enemies to fill out a Fame requirement.

In Yellow Zone Mists, this area is PVP enabled, meaning that playerscan attack youand thusforce you outof the Mist.

Once the quest is complete, you’ll find aCache in the middle— and the Caches also have a rarity system, from Common to Legendary.

There are two types of Camps:Regular CampsandSmall Camps. The rewards in Regular Camps tend to be greater than those in Small Camps.

After looting the Cache, the Camp is cleared, and there isn’t anything left to do than to move on to the next one.

What Are Resource Areas?

Some Mists have special resource areas with an abundance of acertain resource. As Mists have every type of resource, these nodes can specialize in any of thefive resource types.

Mists can have enchanted resources, too, and as Mists reset every so often, these resource nodes are avery safe way to gather some high-tier resources, assuming you brought your tools with you.

What Are Chests And Coffers?

You might rarely find Coffers and Chests around the Mists, which arefilled with great loot. They unlock on a set timer, which you can view by hovering over them.

Coffers and Chests have the same rarity system as the Caches do, from Common to Legendary, and generally haveway better loot than Camp Caches.

Coffers only appear on your local mapwhen you’re close to them, but Chests appearfor everyonein that Mist on their local map — notifying everyone where it is well in advance.

Whilst Coffers tend to be a nice surprise whilst you’re traveling the Mist, as they’re usually not a very competitive hotspot, Chests are abeaming target for everyonethat happens to be in the Mist you’re occupying. Be careful when approaching Chests, as there might already be someone there waiting for you to come close. The loot in that Chestisn’t worth your life.

At first, they will have a timer on which they unlock, and the rarity of them isn’t revealed until they are.

Once unlocked, they take a few seconds to open, leaving a window of opportunity for anyone tointerrupt a player’s opening animation.

If you’re lucky enough to open one of these, expect Coffers to have way better loot than Camp Caches, and expect Chests to have even better loot than Coffers.

What Are Mythical Creatures?

In Uncommon Mists and above, you have a very small chance of findingMythical Creatures. These are bosses;extremely tough enemieswith some of the mostvaluable resourceson the market in store for anyone that’s able to best them in combat.

There are three Mythical Creatures in the Mists:

They don’t appear on your local map.

Apart from these three, there is another very rare creature you’re able to find in the Mists:The Crystal Spiderling. Instead of dropping specific items, this mob functions like an upgraded Chest — giving you some ofthe best loot you can hope to findin the Mists.

Crystal Spiderlings areexclusive to Black Zone Mists and Greater Mists, and are thus a major risk. They appear on your local map when you’re close to them, much like Coffers do.

What Is The Knightfall Abbey?

Knightfall Abbey is the only dungeon available in the Mists. Every Knightfall Abbey dungeon hasthe same layout, and functions the same way.

Much like Mists, Knightfall Abbeysclose after some time, and have Wisps you can find when the time comes, to look for another Mist to escape to. Failing to find a Wisp will leave you in the Mist that you entered from, or a random Mist that’s available of Common rarity if the aforementioned closed.

There are many exits from the Abbey, and these are always visible on your local map.

How To Find Knightfall Abbey

Around the Mists, you might findportals to Knightfall Abbey, which have a two-minute lifespan and a tier from T5 to T8. These portals, much like Coffers, appear on your local map once you’re in proximity to one.

The tier of the portaltells youwhich tier of enemiesyou can hope to find in the Abbey, andhow good the loot is— the higher tier, the better the loot.

These portals close after a player enters them, or when the timer runs out.

How The Knightfall Abbey Works

Knightfall Abbey hasnine buildingswith streets connecting them all.

Each building has a set number of rooms, and each room can have eithera group of enemies or a boss.

Clearing a group of enemies rewards you with eithera buff that triggers in combat, ora chestwith a rarity from Common to Legendary. Chests aren’t guaranteed, andbuffs tend to be a lot more frequent.

Clearing bossesalways rewards a chestwith generally better rewards.

What Else Can You Find In The Abbey?

Like Mists, every Kinghtfall Abbey will spawnat least one Chest visible to everyoneon their local map, andCoffers can spawn as well— functioning the same way they do in Mists.

Unlike Mists, there areno resourcesto be found anywhere here, and Mythical Creatures also do not spawn.

Brecilien, The City Hidden In The Mists

As each area of the Royal Continent has a city,so do the Mists. The city in the Mists, Brecilien, can only be found within the Mists, and to do so —you’ll need Brecilien Standing.

How To Get Brecilien Standing

Brecilien can only be accessed when you’ve achieved50,000 Brecilien Standing, granting you the title “Accepted”.

Brecilien Standing can be viewedfrom the Stats menu, which is located on the menu that appears when you press on your profile picture.

The Brecilien Standing can be acquired whilst you’re clearing Camps, opening Chests and killing Crystal Spiderlings. Apart from these, there aretwo activitiesthat granta lot of Brecilien Standing, but no other rewards in terms of loot or silver. These are:

Escorting Weakened Wisps

Turbulent Mists appear in every Mist you visitat least once, and they drop a Weakened Wisp after a set timer. These show up oneveryone’s local map, no matter how far they are from them.

These Weakened Wisps have a rarity, from Uncommon to Legendary, and need to bepicked up and escorted to a portalthat spawns somewhere in the Mist you’re in.

Once a Weakened Wisp has been picked up,you cannot mount up— so, do this only if there are no strong players around, as the only rewards you gain are Standing and Fame.

The portal for escorting will appear on your local map, andonly on your local map. No one else can see where your destination is.

On foot, you need tohead to that locationto drop off the Wisp and gain Standing in return.

How To Enter Brecilien

Once you’ve gained 50,000 Brecilien Standing, you now need tofind a portal to Brecilien. These can be found rarely in Mists, and in the Roads of Avalon.

Your safest bet is to look within any Mist, as you’re looking fora circle surrounding a Portal iconon your local map.

Once you’ve found it, you can enter it and be transported to Brecilien.

Portals to Avaloncan also appear in the Mists, so when spotting a portal —read carefully where it leads.

Also note that visiting Brecilien counts as visiting a city, soyou will not be able to use the Journey Back abilityto go back to the city you came from. You are stuck in Brecilien, until you use theTravel Planner NPC, or go through Avalon to get out.

What Can You Find In Brecilien?

Standard content found in other cities appears here too, except the Faction Warfare NPC as Brecilien does not have a Faction. Brecilien does have its own Marketplace, Bank, Vanity Merchant and Energy Manipulator.

Apart from the standard NPCs, you may also find anArtificer NPC— items here need to beunlocked for purchaseby gaining Standing, and are exclusive to the city of Brecilien.

Brecilien hasthree floors to it, and the top floor has analways-open Mists portalleading you to a random Mist, and analways-open Avalonian portal.
