Dragon Age: The Veilguardgives you more quests than you could ever hope to keep track of without a journal, but luckily, you can check off Only An Echo in under 15 minutes if you want to start ticking some boxes on your quest checklist. Only An Echo begins in the Flooded Farmlands and keeps you in a fairly tight radius within that area.
The contained quest space, markers, and some simple placements can make finding most of the notes a breeze, but you’ll need to solve two puzzles to complete the quest. However, if you’ve mastered the concept of Blight Boil puzzles, then this quest should be one of the quickest side quests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Where To Find The Notes In Only An Echo
From theFlooded Farmlands,the four family notes are within reach, witheach one marked on your map.
However, you’ll still need to search their general areas to find each note, with the introductory example offering a simpleBlight Boil puzzleto open up your options.
Note One: The Family Note
You must investigate the family’s disappearance by completing two tasks:
The task is simple and begins with the family’s home in the Flooded Farmlands.
As you approach it, you’ll notice the house is completelyblackened by blight.
However, you should notice aBlight Boil,a pulsing pimple-like growth,under a black treealong the snowy path of theLavendel Barricade to the left.
Hit the first Blight Boilto trigger it to burn away, keeping a closeeye on the burning trailit leaves tolocate the next Blight Boil.
Hit each Blight Boil in succession, which will eventuallyclear the front entrance to the house.
Head inside and claim the first note:the Family Note,completing the investigation of the house and progressing to the next step with one of four notes.
From here, the next note couldn’t be much closer, but you’ll need to clear some more Blight Boils first.
Note Two: Emilia Voss' Diary
From inside the house, drop to the front area and hit theBlight Boil located in the destroyed basement areaof the house.
The first Blight Boil’s trailwill lead just above it, and you’ll need tofind an angle from the space behind the houseto hit this trickysecond Blight Boil.
Head back inside the house to get a clear shot atBlight Boil three.
From here, there will be awooden beamrevealed, linking the main area of the house to another room.
Cross the beam and use a ladder in the room to headupstairs and claim the second note.
Note Three: Ursa Voss' Journal
From theFlooded Farmlands' central area,headsoutheasttoward the marker near the well.
When you reach the well, several Darkspawn will appear; defeat them and you canclaim the third note.
Note Four: Rupert Voss' Field Checks
Either follow your marker or re-enter the Flooded Farmlands from the Crossroads path to the south.
The next note should be in this marshy area – check in thecenter of a small garden patchwhere you should find thefourth note.
From here, your quest will update and direct you to goseal the well.
Return to the welland investigate it.
After a short cutscene plays, the well will be sealed, and you can return to the villager, Ida, to collect your reward.
