Sonic Speed Simulator is an official Sega game on theRobloxplatform. In Sonic Speed Simulator, you’ll be zipping around at the speed of sound, unlocking different characters from the Sonic franchise. Picking up Chaos Orbs will let you level up and speed up, whilst every step you take levels up your character to give you bonuses.

Both of these can be multiplied by Fast Friends, which will allow you to progress exponentially faster - but how do you level them up, without wasting too many materials? Today, we will dive into the mathematics behind Fast Friends, and answering this question.

What Are Fast Friends

The ultimate form of regular Friends is calledFast Friends, and theycopy the best basic statfrom every Friend in your inventory and then multiply that by a percentage.

To give you an example of this, let’s say you have two Chao: One has+10 Ringsand+20 XP, and the other has+20 Ringsand+10 XP. Instead of choosing which to equip, you can have a Fast Friend who is going to takeonly the best stats of both of theseand replicate that one - giving it+20 Ringsand+20 XP. After this, the numbers aremultiplied by the percentagethat the Fast Friend has - so if it replicates at 110%, you will get +22 Rings and +22 XP instead.

Every Fast Friend, along with this replicating ability, has at leastone bonus statthat never goes away. This can be at least one of the following:

Finally, Fast Friends are the only Friends in the game thatboost your Steps- every step you take is counted towards your character mastery, and this stat changeshow many steps are countedfor every step you take.

How To Get Fast Friends

Fast Friends are pretty nifty, right? Well, they don’t cost much either, as you may get one for as low as10 Red Star Rings. Since we will be talking about these Red Star Rings a lot,we will refer to them as RSRfrom now on - as they’re called that in-game as well.

Cream And Chocola

There are two Fast Friendsyou can get for free, but you can only getone of eachand they are untradeable. The two Fast Friends in question areCream and Chocola, and they can be obtained from the EventsCream’s FriendsandChao School, respectively.

For Cream, you need to fuse five level 25 Chao in a Fusion Machine, and for Chocola, you need to obtain a Chao with a Magnet bonus stat in Hill Top Zone’s Vending Machines.

Vending Machine Fast Friends

The rest of the Fast Friend roster can be obtained fromFast Friend Vending Machinesin almost every Zone.

Cyber Station’s Friends Vending Machine is theonly wayto get Fast Friends without spending any RSR, but instead cost a ludicrous amount of Rings. Experienced players find this option to bethe most affordable, though, as the amount of RSR they gain decreases and the amount of Rings they gain increases in the late game.

Other Fast Friends

There are very frequently podiums with Fast Friends you canpurchase for Robux instead, and these don’t appear anywhere else. Limited-time Events sometimes have Fast Friends, like the Holiday Events, and the Race Shop sometimes offers Fast Friends you’re able to obtain elsewhere for Race tickets.

Unless you don’t have any RSR to spare,we strongly don’t recommendbuying the Race Shop Fast Friends - the price is just too steep, and instead, you may earn RSR by buying characters with Race Tickets from the Race Shop and trading them for RSR with other players. This will ultimately be more profitable, too.

How To Level Up Fast Friends

Fast Friends can be leveled upthrough their Star system. Every Fast Friend starts off at 1-Star and can be upgraded to a 6-Star, which is the maximum level.

Fast Friends are leveled up via fusing, and the system they use isdifferent from regular Friends; one Fast Friend is selected as the one being upgraded, and up to five other ones fuse into the one selected to upgrade him. The Star level of the five Fast Friends that are being sacrificedmust be equal to, or smaller than, the Star level ofthe one being upgraded; 3-Star Fast Friends can’t be fused to level up a 2-Star Fast Friend.

Do not use Chocola or Creamto upgrade a different Fast Friend, as these will belost foreverin the fusion process.

On top of the cost of the Fast Friends themselves, each upgrade attempt costs RSR, depending on which Star level you’re trying to get. Every time a Fast Friend is leveled up, theirbonus stats increase by aflat amount(usually +2), theirStep bonus doubles, and theirreplicating percentage increases by 10%.

At 1 Star, the percentage is 90%, at 2 Stars, it’s 100%, and so on until you hit 6 Stars, where instead of 140%, the percentage jumps to 150%. Steps at 1 Star have a bonus of +5, at 2 Stars +10, and so on until you hit 6 Stars, where the bonus is +160.

How To Get 6-Star Fast Friends

To fuse, up to five Fast Friends can be used, but that doesn’t mean thatit has to be five. Each Fast Friend used adds a percent chance of the fusion succeeding, up to 100%. If the fusion is less than 100%, and it fails, the Fast Friends aren’t used up, but the attempt still costs RSR.

When leveling up a 1-Star to a 2-Star, this is very simple, as each 1-Star Fast Friend used adds a20% chance to the calculation. Later on, though, when trying to level up a 4-star, you can use any X-Star Fast Friend in the mix -each one adding a different percentageto the chance of it succeeding.

You might ask: Why not just use five Fast Friends of the same level? Well, we can, but if we do that at every level - a 6-Star Fast Friend wouldcost us over 46,000 RSReven if we only ever used the Cyber Station Vending Machine, where every 1-Star Fast Friend only costs Rings (not to mention, we wouldneed to spend 312 billion Ringson top of that on the Vending Machine itself).

What Is The Optimal Solution

We did the math, we measured the amount of pixels each Fast Friend increases the percentage bar for, and we found that it mostlydepends on your Luck statwhen you’re trying to get 1-Star Fast Friends from Vending Machines. As each attempt costs RSR, we also included the percent chance of the upgrade failing into the equation to get arough estimateof how much X-Star Fast Friend costs.

The RSR costs are calculatedbased on an average, so your results may vary. This is meant to give you an idea ofhow much RSR you might need, but the actual amount could be bigger or smaller than what we gotif you get lucky.

We will covertwo sides of the story, one where you haveno Luck bonus stat, and one where you have100 Luck bonus stat, as this is the amount of Luck you’d have if you had five max levelFused Crimson Wispsat +20 Luck each. If you have RSR to spare, the Hill Top Zone Fast Friend Vending Machineis the bestfor getting 1-Star Fast Friends. If you’d rather spend Rings, use the Cyber Station one.
