Play Minigames And Complete Errands To Earn Mini Stars On Five Game Boards

If you’re looking for a goodsingle-player game modeto keep yourself occupied between rounds of Mario Party with friends, one of the options you’ve got in Super Mario Party Jamboree is the Party Planner Trek! When you’re given the introductory tour of the game and Party Plaza when you first begin playing, Toad mentions thatKamek is in the Party Plazaworking on decorations, and he seems pretty stressed about it.

You’ll find Lakitu to the side of the Balloon in the Plaza,to the right of the online connectivity portalbeside the Balloon. When you’re ready to take on the Trek, speak to Kamek, who will whisk you away to the first offive total game boardsto begin helping him and his team with their prep work.Your progress is tied to the character you’re playing, with each game offering three total save slots.

To help with the planning and preparations, you’re brought toeach of the five original boardsin Super Mario Party Jamboree, without maps available forWestern Land and Mario’s Cloud Castle. This mode allows you towalk freely around the game boardsand interact with plenty of things that aren’t normally there during standard Mario Parties. And good thing, because you’ll need toexplore each board fullyin order to find and complete each task.

As you walk aroundeach of Jamboree’s original game boards, you’ll becompleting tasks to help finish the preparationson that board. Plenty of things have been changed from the standard Mario Party mode - there aren’t colored spaces on the ground, there are characters there that don’t normally appear, pathways may be closed off, and shops are almost always closed. But there’s plenty of new stuff going on around the board, too, and that’s usually how you’ll progress in the Party Planner Trek.

The goal of the Party Planner Trek is tocollect at least 30 Mini Stars by finishing tasks and playing gamesaround the current game board. In total, there willalways be 60 Mini Stars available on each board, but you’ll onlyneedto collect 30 before being allowed to move on. That said, there’s definitely merit to finishing each board completely, like achievements, bonus decorations, and more.

You’ll earn Mini Stars in the Party Planner Trek in a number of ways, which remain the same no matter which of the five game boards you’re currently playing on. By the end of the Party Planner Trek, you’ll haveplayed all four-player, two-versus-two, one-versus-three, duel, item, and Showdown minigames, each of which offers Mini Stars and allies.

There are different Mini Star payouts depending on what your task is at any given location, and, if it’s based on a minigame, your reward is also tied to how well you do in said game. These include:

After you’ve received 30 Mini Stars from any of the above methods after talking to characters around the board, Toad will summon you back to the start to talk about the jar of Mini Stars, but on each board,a boss character will steal the Mini Stars, and it’s up to you (and any Jamboree Buddies you may have unlocked on that board) to stop their nefarious theft!

The minigames are fairly straightforward, buteach boss fight is made easier by having allies. It’s not a bad idea to ensure you’ve done the Jamboree Buddy Showdown games on the current map before engaging in the boss fight - more hands make less work! Following your victory in the boss minigame, the enemy will return the container of Mini Stars, and your allies return to their spots on the Party Planner Trek map. After the boss has been defeated, you’ll be given the option to stick around the current game board to keep collecting Mini Stars there, or Toad can also take you directly to the next map if you’d rather move on along. You can also choose to re-challenge the boss at any time by interacting with the sign of them near Toad on that board.

For each boss fight you complete, you’ll unlock a special topiary of that boss to place on the garden plots near the lift to the Party Planner Trek back in the Plaza.

As you wander through every board in Super Mario Party Jamboree, you’ll findLakitu floating on his cloudin one spot, and he’s waiting to give you atrivia quiz about the current game board. Lakitu’s quizzes test your knowledge ofthe new boards in Jamboree, so it may not be bad idea to wait to take the quiz until you’re comfortable with the little details about each board.Each quiz has ten questions.

Foreach question you get right, Lakitu will reward you withone Mini Star, withten Mini Stars per boardto offer if you complete all of his questions. You can keep going straight through the quiz once you’ve begun, or you can stop after every question and come back later. Additionally, if you get it wrong, Lakitu will simply force you out of the dialogue, and you’ll be able to talk to him again immediately to try another answer without penalty.

Goomba Lagoon Boss: Dragoneel

For an easier time taking on Dragoneel at the end of Goomba Lagoon in the Party Planner Trek, consider first unlocking theallies for this board: Mario, Toad, Spike, and DK. To take out Dragoneel, you’ll need to playDragoneel Slayers, tasking you with riding a jetski tocollect shells to lob at Dragoneel when it breaches the surface. Watch out for obstacles in the water as you grab your shells!

Dragoneel will attempt to attack you and suck you into a whirlpool before it pops out of the water and is able to be targeted, and you’ll lose a few of your gathered shells if you get sucked in. Athalf health, not only will there be larger obstacles in the water during the shell collection phase, but you’ll also find more of them along the waterway.

On the Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party map, you’re up against Mega Stingby, so grab yourallies for this board: Peach, Toadette, Monty Mole, and Yoshi. They’ll help you playMega Stingby Stompers, a game that tasks you withclimbing the platforms and ground-pounding Mega Stingbyto inflict damage as it flutters across the screen. You need to land after a ground-pound before you can do another, so no trying to spam ground-pounds off one jump!

At thehalfway point, you’ll notice that not only does Mega Stingbyremove the middle two platforms on the top row, limiting you and your teammates to one side or another for the most part, but it also summonssupport Stingby enemiesthat’ll knock you back and cost you points when you’re struck.

Rainbow Galleria Boss: Mega Rocky Wrench

The boss fight against Mega Rocky Wrench in Rainbow Galleria,Mega Rocky Wrench Wreckers, is made far easier by bringing along someallies (like Luigi, Wario, Goomba, and Birdo). Here, you’ll need tofollow Mega Rocky Wrench as he moves between openings on the ship and fire cannonballs at him when he’s exposed.

He’ll move quite a bit before picking a spot, so keep your reticle in sight and aim quickly when he pops up. At thehalfway pointin the game, not only will you be up against moreRocky Wrench alliespopping up to confuse you in the search for the boss, but you’ll also need to contend withwrenches being thrown at you and the teamby making sure toshoot down wrenchesbefore they hit you and cost you a few points.

Hopefully you’re decent with all things electricity when you and yourallies (Daisy, Waluigi, Bowser, and Shy Guy)gather at the starting line to playBoss Sumo Bro Blitzers. Here, it’s up to you and your team to eachsolve a puzzle that makes electricity flow in your circuit, which you’ll do byclicking the rotatable pipe tileson the grid in front of you. The quicker you are, the more damage you deal.

At thehalfway pointin the game, you’ll not only havemore panels exposedthat you need to work through to get the current flowing, butregular-sized Sumo Bros occasionally rotate your tiles, focusing specifically on ones you’ve already connected to the main current and forcing you to double-back to fix them.

At long last, it’s time to face the meanest Super Mario Party Jamboree boss battles as you take onImpostor Bowserfor the first time in this particular game mode! Be sure to bring along yourallies for this board (Bowser Jr., Rosalina, Koopa Troopa, and Boo)as you challenge Impostor Bowser in his game,Bowser Crashers.

The goal is tocharge your rockets to deal more damage before blasting off at Impostor Bowser. The longer you charge, the more damage you’ll do! At thehalfway point, not only doesthe perspective of the game changeto put the camera behind you and the team, but Impostor Bowser will lay on a series oftricky counter-attacksthat interrupt your charge and steal one point from your total if they hit you.
