How To Set Up A Chicken Coop For Breeding
There are afew steps to go before you can breed an evil chicken, but they are simple enough to follow. First, you need to get abasic chicken breeding setup.
Set Up A Chicken Coop
To breed an evil chicken, you must first have chickens. The two options here are topurchase a Chicken Coop from Build/Buyfor $320, ormove into a lot with onealready there, such as theCordelia’s Secret Cottagestarter home.
Now you have a chicken coop, simplyclick on the coop in live mode and select ‘Purchase Chickens’.You can purchase up toeight chickens, which is the capacity of the coop, but if you want to breed them, you’ll need tomake sure there’s room for new chicks.
We recommendone hen and one rooster. This is just so you can keep track easily of the chicken treats and eggs. If you want to speed run, youcan have up to three pairs, but you’llneed more spicy treats.
Look After Your Chickens
Make sure tobuild a good relationship with your chickensby feeding them each day and socialising with them. You can click on the individual chickens tosocialise and hand feed themusing the menu. You can alsoclick the coop and select ‘scatter food nearby’to ensure they have extra food if required.
Your chickens need to be kept happy, sincehappy chickens are more likely to stick aroundand lay eggs. However, regular eggs aren’t going to give you evil chickens. You needobsidian eggs.

There are13 types of animal treatand you can get them by:
Once you’vefed an animal treatto one of your livestock, you’lllearn the recipeand can produce more in the future. The recipe you’ll need for spicy treats is:
If you feed these to a cow you’ll getfire milk, a llama will turn red and give youred wool, and a hen will lay anobsidian egg.
The game currently has a bug whereany animal you take to the Finchwick Fair will get permanently stuck in your inventory! We recommend only taking animal produce and crops until this is fixed.
You’ll need to make sure you havea rooster present in the coopin order to have a chance to gainhatchable obsidian eggs. This could take a few days, so you need tokeep feeding the chickens spicy treatseach day.
Where To Find Spicy Mushrooms
to make enough spicy treats to get a hatchable obsidian egg, you’ll needspicy mushrooms. However, youcannot just purchase or harvest themlike regular mushrooms.
You’ll need toharvest strange mushrooms, which yieldseveral different types of mushroom. These can be found inHenford-On-Bagley.
If you haveSeasonsinstalled, you’llonly be able to harvest spicy mushroomsfrom these clumps duringSummer and Winter.
Thefour locationsare all inThe Bramblewood neighbourhood. We usedCordelia’s Secret Cottageas our base andmarked this on the mapbelow, along with the approximate locations.
Marked Right to Left: Cordelia’s Secret Cottage, Bench By Waterfall, Snail Maze, Gazebo, Ruins.
From the house, walkdown the winding pathand head towards the waterfall. You’ll see apark benchoverlooking where the waterfall hits a flat area before cascading to the bottom. The mushrooms arejust to the left of the bench.
Continuefollowing this path straight downand keep to the main path until you hit thepublic bathroom. Here you may turn right andgo over the bridge.
On the other side, turn left, before heading immediately rightand going up the stepstowards the ruinsin the centre of the island. The mushroom patch here is between the ruined walls to theleft of the largest tree.
After this, head back down the stairs andretrace your steps. When you get tothe bridge, keep goingaround the edge of the island. You’ll soon seeanother bridge, this time a fallen tree, on the right-hand side, and aGazeboon your left. Themushroom patch is between these.
Once you’ve gathered these, head across the fallen tree bridge. On the other side, turn right, and you’ll see the mushroom patch, just before the entrance to Sophie Snail’s maze.
When you have the spicy mushrooms, you’ll also needany vegetable. You can grow vegetables in your garden, order them from the grocery delivery service, purchase from the food stall, or order a packet of starter veg. They can also be found around the world.
You’ll likely find a few regular mushrooms among your spicy mushroom harvest which you can use, so don’t get rid of these.
To craft the treats, select your fridge then navigate toMore Choices - Make Animal Treat. You’ll then get a pop-up menu and can choose from the list. Anything you can’t make yet will be greyed out.

You’ll need acowberry, which you canfish up fromthe locations in our Cow Plant guide. After this, you’ll need touse the newto make it into jam.
Once you’ve made the treatfeed it to any chicken to instantly turn them evil.
